Alston & Bird is hiring for the position of Project Manager in the Atlanta office. The role of Project Manager is to develop and implement project management methodologies and best practices, project manage/lead moderate to complex technology projects. Additionally, this individual will be knowledgeable of and work with business owners/project sponsors to effectively deploy technology solutions to meet the business needs and goals of the Firm.

+ Develop and implement project management methodologies and best practices throughout the Information Systems Department supporting the Project Management Office (PMO) standards.

+ Effectively apply project management methodologies and enforce project standards.

+ Project manage/lead multiple projects and/or initiatives that enhance the core information systems, technologies and processes of the Firm.

+ Manage all aspects of the project, including providing overall guidance and direction.

+ Determine the appropriate project approach, staffing, responsibilities and schedule for each of the projects and/or initiatives assigned.

+ Coordinate all project activities with the customer and other security, support, technical infrastructure and application teams.

+ Participate in business analysis of customer requests, requirements and processes to include conducting needs assessments and gap analysis.

+ Identify project team members and define their roles and expectations as it relates to the specific project and/or initiative.

+ Collaborate closely with the customer and technical teams to identify and document detailed requirements, process flows, data sources, system configurations, customizations, security permissions/access, etc.

+ Review and manage all changes to the requirements through a formally defined scope change process.

+ As needed, participate in product evaluations (i.e. hardware, software and network).

+ Ensure project teams have considered and incorporated security components from the firms acceptable use and Information Security Management System.

+ Assist the project team in preparing to present plans to the Technology Review committee prior to deployment / implementation.

+ Participate in creating test plans and performing functional, stress and performance tests, as well as participating in the Proof of Concept and Pilot test phases.

+ Perform day-to-day management of all phases on the assigned projects; document and communicate progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary.

+ Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet or exceed expectations; balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality and risks.

+ Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.

+ Facilitate meetings with project teams and customers effectively.

+ Create and manage project management-related documentation that defines the major deliverables throughout the project cycle (i.e. integrated project plans, risk mitigation plans, communication plans, resource requirements, implementation schedules, project costs, etc.).

+ Review project deliverables for completeness, quality and compliance with PMO established project standards.

+ Communicate frequently with executive leadership to provide project risk analysis, status and analysis of requirements that might impact strategic direction.

+ Manage customer relationships and negotiate changes to commitments and/or requirements.

+ Work collaboratively and build relationships with other project team members, vendors, sub-contractors, third party consultants which may be located in multiple locations.

+ Facilitate knowledge transfer with project teams, project sponsors, ongoing support staff and customers.

+ Provide internal consulting and mentoring to other members of the Information Systems Department on project management topics and best practices.

+ Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application to the Firm.

+ Perform other departmental duties as required by supervisors.

Alston & Bird is seeking a Billing Coordinator in the Washington D.C. office to provide billing support in the Finance group. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating client invoicing and electronic billing through a multitude of client systems. You will handle a wide variety of complex adjustments to PDF and electronic bills, interpret and respond to report/information requests from attorneys, legal administrative assistants, clients and others. Essential Duties

* Handle incoming requests for client invoices, write-offs, discounts, bill template changes, electronic billing requests, report requests, access changes, billing rate information and many other billing-related questions.
* Manage all billing activities for assigned electronic billing clients, assigned attorneys, and other complex clients and matters as assigned.
* Configure and maintain electronic billing profiles with any assigned e-billing vendors (Tymetrix360, Legal Tracker, Passport, CounselLink, Collaborati, Bridgeway Corridor and many others) including coordination of new matters, timekeeper and rate approvals, required task and activity code information, client billing guidelines, following up on AR and reduced/rejected invoices.
* Monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) and unbilled time and costs on assigned attorneys/clients/matters to ensure timely billing and payment of client invoices. Proactively communicate with all parties and address any issues or concerns.
* Consult with attorneys, and legal administrative assistants and utilize all of the functionality in the firm's billing systems to identify solutions and best practices for meeting client billing requirements.
* Effectively utilize reports and inquiry tools in the firm's billing systems, Microsoft Excel and other various reporting and information tools to respond to information requests from clients, attorneys and legal administrative assistants.
