John is President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of QR Energy. He leads the company's technical efforts. John's expertise includes petroleum engineering, geology, geophysics and operations. John has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Quantum Resources since 2009 where he has improved the fund’s operating costs and successfully integrated the nearly $900 million property acquisition from Denbury Resources. Before joining Quantum Resources, John was a Managing Director at Quantum Energy Partners, where he worked with Quantum's portfolio companies in evaluating acquisition opportunities. John also served as Senior Vice President Operations for North America Onshore for Ocean Energy, Inc. where he was responsible for the company's extensive onshore oil and gas operations. He joined Ocean from Burlington Resources, Inc. where, over a period of eleven years, he served in a variety of engineering, operational and management positions. Prior to Burlington, he was a field engineer with Schlumberger Ltd. Over the years, he has led the technical and capital allocation efforts for major onshore and offshore assets, as well as the evaluation of numerous property acquisitions and mergers

Prior to Alta Mesa, Ms. Warnica served in several positions in the Marathon Oil legal department from 2016 to 2018, including Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary. Prior to Marathon Oil, Ms. Warnica served as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas (formerly Plains Exploration and Production Company). She started her career at Andrews Kurth LLP (now known as Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP).

Ms. Warnica has a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M and earned her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
