As the Designer I, you will… Provide structural analysis, calculations, and design support as assigned from sketches, verbal, or written instructions. Assist with the production of structural construction documents, including drawings and specifications. Assist with project management and administration. Provide BIM/Revit computer software support. Develop an understanding of structural construction document organization and production. Learn building design and construction terminology. Develop time management skills, complete tasks accurately and on schedule, and take initiative to seek out guidance or additional tasks, as needed. Learn and adhere to office standards of design, quality control, and production. Develop organizational skills, maintain a detail-oriented approach, and collaborate effectively with a variety of individuals. Assist project team and market/studio leadership with any other duties as assigned. Designer I Qualifications - The Must-Haves (Required) Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering 0-2+ years structural design experience Intermediate skills in MS Excel and MS Outlook Designer I Qualifications - The Like-to-Haves (Not Required) Structural engineering internship experience preferred Basic skills in MS Word and MS PowerPoint Familiarity with BIM/Revit Salary Range: $66,200 - $86,900 annually. Responsibilities for the Product Engineer Job in Hampton, VA include: Oversee manufacturing tooling design, construction, and implementation. Optimize dimensional yields of castings at minimum manufacturing cost. Create manufacturing routing and processing instructions. Develop and debug processes for production and developmental castings. Prepare First Article Inspections to qualify parts. Actively pursue the continuous improvement of existing processes. Provide technical support to customers and interact regarding technical concerns. Comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines, including regular attendance and some overtime. Effectively write work instructions, reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and/or customers. Apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or a four-year non-engineering degree with equivalent work-related experience. This role will also drive continuous improvement initiatives and local capital investment. Qualifications & Skills: In-depth knowledge of DoD and Navy specifications, industry codes and standards, and practices related to electrical engineering design. This includes familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), IEEE C2 (National Electrical Safety Code), and the International Building Code. Understanding of local, state, federal, and international regulations affecting electrical engineering design within the NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic area. Experience in budgeting, planning, and project management, with the ability to lead teams and coordinate the work of others. Familiarity with related architectural/engineering disciplines and their impact on electrical engineering. Strong analytical skills to assess data and designs and communicate results effectively in writing. Ability to synthesize others' findings and make oral presentations with professional articulation. Knowledge of safety policies, guidelines, and the proper use of personal protective equipment. Experience Requirements: At least 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience in the design and construction of code-compliant facilities.
