Summary:
Brooksource is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure within our client's Data Centers. As a key member of the Engineering and Facilities team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure, ensuring facility operations, and implementing safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Safety:
· Uphold and promote the highest safety standards, fostering a world-class safety culture.
· Collaborate with other teams to address safety risks/issues and take ownership of safety initiatives and projects.
2. Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance:
· Demonstrate operational expertise in electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS's, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS's, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFD's, and Transformers.
· Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs and work varying shifts (morning, late, and night).
· Conduct routine rounds/log-taking for operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
· Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
· Respond to off-duty emergency calls on an on-call rotation basis.
· Lift/move objects/materials within regulatory weight limits and work in outdoor weather conditions occasionally.
Basic Qualifications:
· Completed apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician/Electrician or equivalent recognized training.
· Very good command of English (CEFR B2).
· Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word) and web-based operational tools.
· Proficient with Change Management Systems (CMS) and Ticket Systems.
· 2+ years of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
· 2+ years of Data Center engineering experience.
· 3+ years of job-related experience.
· Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
· Familiarity with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems and data collection/trending.
· Highly proficient in written and spoken English (CEFR C1).
· Very good command of German (CEFR B2).
Shift Details:
· Shifts are 12.5 hours long (5:30 AM/PM - 6:30 AM/PM)
· Days are 3 on, 4 off, 4 on 3 off. For example, you could work Sunday - Tuesday, be off Wednesday - Saturday, and then work Sunday - Wednesday, be off Thursday - Saturday.
· Both day and night shifts are available.

Issue backlog review with the appropriate product and engineering resources will occur frequently. Frequent standups for triaging and routing will occur. Performance Outcome: Technical Support and Collaboration
Process Improvements: A consistent, repeatable, and clear process for issue communication and resolution exists and is being followed. Success can be measured here by the existence of a more coherent process, stakeholder surveys, and a baseline of issue throughput / time to close exists.
Closed Issues: Issues are confirmed and triaged and then routed to be resolved by the appropriate team members, reducing direct requests to the product and engineering team. We should see a reduction of communication and investigation time being performed by Sr. Engineers.
Product Improvements: A backlog of product improvements is created and prioritized that will reduce issues. Success can be measured by backlog depth of this work and how many tickets from this backlog are getting closed.
Monitoring Improvements: A backlog of monitoring / testing improvements is created and prioritized that will catch issues more quickly. Success can be measured by backlog depth of this work and how many tickets from this backlog are getting closed.
Feedback: Stakeholders, engineers, product managers, and the support team itself express positive feedback about the work this team does and the outputs they are producing.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience
0-5 years of industry experience in technical support, help desk support, or similar roles
High School Diploma or equivalent; higher degree- a plus
Proficiency with tools like Postman, Jira, Conflunce
Understanding and exposure to APIs and databases.
Proven aptitude for quickly learning systems, processes, and procedures, and grasping technical concepts
Exceptional written and spoken communication skills with experience in interacting with a range of personalities and styles to establish an effective relationship at all levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position is $45/hour for the internship.
