Job Description Overview
As a Staff Engineer, Field Applications, reporting into ADI's global automotive sales organization, you will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted technical advisor to our Automotive OEM and Tier 1 customers for ADI's innovative automotive data transport technologies - Automotive Audio Bus (A2B), Automotive Ethernet 10Base-T1S (E2B / MAC-PHY), and Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL). This includes identifying and understanding customer needs and opportunities; proposing system solutions; and supporting design-in activities. The position requires an ability to function autonomously as a technology expert while working in a dynamic environment with the other members of the local sales and applications engineering teams.
This role requires senior-level automotive electronics experience; understanding of electronic hardware design best practices; capability to debug embedded systems; and knowledge of digital audio and/or video data transport and network stack concepts. Previous knowledge of automotive infotainment systems specifically is desired but not required. The ideal candidate has solid communications skills with the ability to understand and manage customer expectations. Familiarity with automotive product development principles and processes; EMC/EMI validation; or functional safety concepts are all desirable attributes.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Understanding customer system- and circuit-level designs to propose technical solutions

The Propulsion System Diagnostic Software Validation Engineer will develop test specifications, execute component and subsystem diagnostic testing for all propulsion system ECUs of the vehicle (VCU, BMS, EDM, OBC, DCDC converter). The candidate will work closely with the Software Team, Electrical Team, and Propulsion Team to validate the subsystem and component level diagnostics on different test properties. The validation engineer will generate test cases and analyze results to ensure program requirements are met.
* Develop Diagnostic Validation test cases for the system, subsystem and component level for each propulsion system module (ECU) across the vehicle architecture.
* Work closely with Software, Electrical, and Propulsion teams on the integration of multiple control units on the test properties.
* Collaborate with Software, Electrical, and Propulsion teams to develop DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and test properties validation plans.
* Write detailed test specifications and test scripts based on system and component requirements. Generate a testing plan that achieves targets at various milestones.
* Develop automation of DTC test cases and UDS services

Transforming the Future with Convergence of Simulation and Data Applications Engineer General Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for an Applications Engineer General. This is a contract position. What You Will Do: As a Global Shift Systems Applications Engineer, you'll lead the design, development, validation, and release of electronic user interface components-specifically gear shift systems-across global vehicle programs. You'll be the key bridge between core engineering and vehicle teams, ensuring flawless execution from concept to launch.
Program Management - ability to lead in-depth technical conversations and, using data and good communication skills, bring groups together to align on a plan or path. Ability to proactively request information from key stakeholders to deliver on time to a project timeline. Ability to put together action plans consisting of multiple workstreams and then track these workstreams to completion while reporting out status to upper management. Good planning and communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Own the design and release of electronic shift system commodities.
* Collaborate across the organization with external suppliers, design studio, MHI / Ergo, manufacturing VO, feature owners, electrical architecture teams, and within the shift systems team to deliver gear shifter commodities to programs on time and on targets with best-in-class quality.
* Manage commodities pre-and-post launch to support quality and ongoing manufacturing feasibility.
* Create clear, concise open issues lists to determine priorities for workplan development.
* Utilize program management systems such as FEDE, JIRA, AIMS, and WERS.
* Lead milestone deliverables and support all program builds with hardware, software, change notices, and alerts.
* Interpret hardware/software specifications and manage DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, SCCAF's and Control Plans.
* Drive issue resolution and support Total Value Management (TVM) initiatives.
* Analyze performance data to improve reliability, durability, and cost efficiency.
* Participate in sourcing processes and supplier negotiations involving all aspects of commodity cost.
Basics:
