A Day in the Life:
* Cosmetic welding on 16 - 20 gauge stainless steel
* TIG welding sheet metal and/or components in flat, vertical and overhead positions, occasional MIG welding
* Interpreting blueprints and follow work instructions and weld symbols related to the weld and metal finish process
* Handle and position work with fixtures and regulate heat, and filler rod as required by AWS standards.

Responsibilities
Follow WPS weld standards.
Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformances to specifications.
Moves machine controls and guides to adjust machine.
Unload welded parts from robotic welder and place on appropriate containers.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Perform basic MIG, TIG and aluminum welding techniques as needed.
Examines finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans and/or customer notes using instruments such as gauges.
Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience in manual and robotic weld is desired
Successful completion of an internal welding test.
Previous knowledge of fixtures and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, welding symbols, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multi-task
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats

Perform weld duties
Weld components with weld equipment as specified by procedures, layout, blueprint, diagrams, work order and oral instruction
Have or must acquire the “basic” Weld Certification as the minimum requirement for all weld positions
Welds range from simple tacks to complex welds, performed in varying positions
Work includes set-up, laying out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify or fabricate parts and/or equipment products
Operate and/or use related equipment and tools which include forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders, torches, drills, punches, tape measure and Air Arc

Tack weld body frames and rings
Weld body frame, rings, and feet.
Stack rotor laminations onto arbors and weld lams
Blueprint reading and following job specs
Approve and reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance.
Select output and check them using appropriate methods and measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.
Inspect procedures of the entire productions cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to follow established procedures for safety, quality and general assembly.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Higher degree from a technical school is a plus.
Certified welder - MIG, TIG, wire feed, aluminum and steel, preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
Basic computer literacy, preferred
Effective communication skills, written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to understand the physical and mechanical properties of metal as affected by composition
Mechanical working and heat treatments including metal cutting and grinding is desirable.

Position Summary :
Experience MIG and TIG Welding Stainless Steel, Aluminum and other metals to deliver a quality weld that is also aesthetically pleasing.
Ability to “Walk the Cup” and be familiar with using hard automation such as plasma weld-around.
Fabricate and assemble components and parts - Measure, cut, grind and shape components using varies tools.
Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints, layouts, and other types of work orders/instructions.

A Day in the Life:
Cosmetic welding on 16 - 20 gauge stainless steel
TIG welding sheet metal and/or components in flat, vertical and overhead positions, occasional MIG welding
Interpreting blueprints and follow work instructions and weld symbols related to the weld and metal finish process
Handle and position work with fixtures and regulate heat, and filler rod as required by AWS standards.
