Pros of working at Alvin Community College

Growth and development of my teaching skills. When I joined I had some experiences as a faculty member but have had the opportunity to grow in my profession as a content expert, modality expert and am even training faculty members in vast divisions and departments about how to be better instructors.

Cons of working at Alvin Community College

Certain individuals hold the college back. If they get offended by the offering of courses that they don't personally like they throw temper tantrums and abuse their leadership roles to get you 'cancel cultured'. I work in a department with hands on components that many prefer to work in the world of 2019 before the pandemic and not embrace online teaching. I find myself fighting to uphold the colleges mission against uninnovative colleagues

Alvin Community College benefits

Remote work agreement. This allows staff and faculty to work some from home.
