As we continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Production Coordinator in our Lawrence, KS location. A production Coordinator coordinates and provides the training, tools and materials to meet schedule customer demand for a production area(s) of responsibility. All of this must be done within the prescribed policies and procedures of the company. SHIFT: Varies see offer letter ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Coordinates with Supervisor in assigning work to meet on time production and quality goals. This includes but not limited to staging, trailer availability, staffing, etc. Controls the workflow within the area of responsibility to meet efficiency targets, minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Requires the ability to train people and serve as a coach to Team Members. Perform On-the-job training and line and production orientation for new hires. Records accurate data on production, labor, team members, and scrap on a timely basis. Follows up with team members on accurate production reporting. Completes shift paper work. Ensures accuracy of inventory and inventory management. Required to ensure all purchased and manufactured material are available when needed to meet production goals. Works with Maintenance, and Manufacturing personnel to provide information on matters relative to machine downtime. Ensures safety best practices are followed by Team Members at all times. Ensure all quality standard for the production area are being met. Performs Quality Checks Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, and point out areas where improvement is needed, as well as the ability to develop a positive relationship with employees in order to develop credibility. Must be results-oriented and have the ability to motivate others. Required to fill in for Department Supervisor in their absence. Required to obtain and maintain a forklift license. Maintains security of buildings, grounds, equipment, materials, and personnel. Assumes other duties as assigned. THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: Area of responsibility: Hands-on Line. Ensures the quality and accuracy of products and timely completion of schedules. Ensures the appropriate use of safety devices and equipment, general housekeeping, and maintains a constant vigilance for hazardous conditions and practices. Ensures a clean and safe work area. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 45 lbs. unassisted with or without reasonable accommodation, continuously and frequently overhead. Lifting of more than 45 lbs requires team lifting of at least 2 people. Frequently required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects ranging from 45 lbs to 80 lbs. Weights over 45 lbs require teamwork of at least 2 people. Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time (8-12 hours daily). Knowledge and experience in manufacturing and inventory management. Must obtain a forklift license and certification within 45 days from hire date. You can choose between shifts that run Sun, Mon, Tue or Wed, Thu, Fri with rotating Saturdays. These are 12-hour shifts (either 6-6 or 7-7; days or overnights). We also have Mon-Fri 8-hour shifts and Mon-Thu 10-hour shifts available. A general production worker will work on an assembly line to produce garage doors. You will be responsible to complete production orders accurately and safely in a timely manner. You will also cross train on other entry level positions and develop product knowledge. Responsibilities/Requirements include: * Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination for operation of hand/power tools * Ability to learn product, work well under pressure, and be mechanically inclined with the ability to operate power tools * Standing/Walking: Job requires standing throughout the entire shift. * Short distance walking of 5-15 feet on a periodic basis during the shift, depending upon the position assigned. * Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting: Job requires lifting and stacking of banded door panels to various levels. Maximum required individual lifting limit is forty-five pounds. * Must be able safely work with another team member to carry or lift door panels in excess of forty-five pounds. * Frequency of lifting and carrying is job task dependent. * Pushing and Pulling: Pushing of carts is often required.
