Ambiq Micro CEO and leadership

Fumihide Esaka has 20 years’ senior management experience in the semiconductor industry. He joined International Rectifier as a Vice President in 1995, having previously spent six years as a manager at consultancy firm, Accenture. He later became President and CEO of Nihon Inter Electronics Corp. and from 2013 was CEO of power conversion specialist, Transphorm Inc. before joining Ambiq Micro in December 2015.

Scott Hanson is an expert in ultra-low energy and variation-tolerant circuits. He championed the development of Ambiq Micro’s SPOT Platform at the University of Michigan along with Ambiq Micro co-founders Dennis Sylvester and David Blaauw. Since Ambiq Micro’s inception, Scott has guided Ambiq Micro’s product development efforts and new technology development efforts. He speaks widely on energy-efficient circuits at trade-shows and conferences and has more than 30 publications and 7 patent filings on related topics. He received his Ph.D., Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Michigan.

Steve Sheafor is a Chief Technical Advisor at Ambiq, Board Member at Ambiq, and Principal at FLS Associates and is based in Denver, Colorado. He has worked as Chief Tecnical Adviser at Vizionware Inc, Founder/Chief Technology Officer/Director at Cornerstone Imaging, and Chief Technical Advisor at Kozio. Steve attended Santa Clara University until 1979 and University of Illinois until 1974.

Greg has over 30 years experience in accounting and finance. During his sixth year with Price Waterhouse, Greg led the firm’s efforts supporting Dell’s IPO. Joining Dell shortly thereafter, he spent the next seven years in Austin, Germany, Japan and Malaysia helping to build successful operating divisions. Greg then took on a variety of high tech start-up challenges as the chief financial executive including twelve years in the semiconductor space . After his company was acquired by Apple in 2010, he launched an outsourced CFO consulting practice and currently serves as a “fractional” CFO for a number of companies. Greg graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a BBA-Accounting and a BS-Mathematics, Magna Cum Laude.

Ross is a CFO Consultant in the firm’s Austin office with extensive experience in capital markets, including the venture capital and IPO process, international expansion, and merger and acquisitions with high growth companies. He has broad experience in planning and forecasting, treasury and cash management, investor relations, internal controls, information systems, and SEC compliance and reporting. He is the former CFO of several technology companies, including Calxeda, HealthTronics and SigmaTel.
