The successful
Ambulance Driver
functions as a driver of an ambulance in the pre-hospital/inter-facility setting on BLS transport. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver superb customer service to everyone you come in contact with, including participants, their families, neighbors, and the people in the facilities.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable protocols for transportation as per company policy.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
- Maintain a professional appearance as a representative of KQT.
- Ensure the cleanliness of your workspace including vehicles, offices, and facilities in which you operate.
- Safely operate and maintain assigned vehicles and equipment in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with participants, families, facilities, and dispatch.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete vehicle inspection at the start of each shift.
- Assist EMS staff with positioning patients on the stretcher including loading and unloading into the ambulance.
- Driving the ambulance safely from point to point.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work requires physical effort including lifting.
- Sit and stand for extended periods of time with an occasional need to stoop, kneel or crouch; occasional need to work in confined spaces and unusual positions.
- Walk, bend, squat, twist, reach, push, pull, and carry.
- Frequently lift and/or move, including assisting participants in moving, going up/downstairs, and wheelchair assistance.
- Work in the elements (Cold, Heat, Rain, Snow, etc.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Maintain current CPR card.
- One year related experience preferred (preferred 2 years driving experience).
- Maintain current, valid Driver’s License.
- Must regularly lift and/or move (up to 125 pounds unassisted/250 pounds assisted).
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule.
- Basic computer knowledge (all documentation, timekeeping, etc., done electronically).
- All positions require a pre-employment Drug Screen and physical.
- As part of the new hire process, KQT does conducts background screening.
