Position Summary

This position will be assigned to Bedford County public schools.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field (including social work, counseling, behavioral science, psychology, or other DMAS-approved human services and related fields degrees).
One year of relevant clinical experience.

Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of psychotherapeutic interventions with education and mental health or substance abuse treatment. Demonstrate screening and assessment skills to determine need for higher level of care. Ability to engage with youth, school administration officials, and teachers in professional manner. Ability to articulate screening and assessment outcomes to parents, students, and administrators, and articulate next plan for client care.
Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required. Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, and provide services to clients in other locations. Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.

The role includes travel of up approximately 2 days per week in the community (home, CSB, or hospital visits as needed) and 3 days working from home.

Overview
Behavioral Health Utilization Management CareCoordinator is responsible for review of clinical information received from providers ensuring clinical data is substantial enough to meet Medical Necessity Criteria to authorize services as needed. Requires knowledge of managed care contracting, Medical Necessity, CMHRS services, BH and ARTS services, DMAS protocols, clinical protocols and clinical review requirements. Requires knowledge of contractual, regulatory and compliance requirements for government payers, self-funded and commercial payers. Ensures appropriate and accurate information is entered into the claims system for processing of payment.
Education
* Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy required. For Registered Nurses, a Bachelor of Science in nursing is required.
Certification/Licensure
Required license must be valid in state of practice. One of the following qualifies:

City/State Roanoke, VA Work Shift First (Days) Sentara Health Plans is hiring for a Behavioral Health Utilization Management CareCoordinator- Whole Person Care- Hybrid in the Roanoke Region! Position Status: Full-time, permanent (40 hours/week) Position Location: This is a hybrid role based in Roanoke Region (Roanoke, Lexington, Covington, Bedford, Radford, Martinsville, and the surrounding areas). The role includes travel of up approximately 2 days per week in the community (home, CSB, or hospital visits as needed) and 3 days working from home.
Standard Working Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM EST, M-F
Overview
Behavioral Health Utilization Management CareCoordinator is responsible for review of clinical information received from providers ensuring clinical data is substantial enough to meet Medical Necessity Criteria to authorize services as needed. Requires knowledge of managed care contracting, Medical Necessity, CMHRS services, BH and ARTS services, DMAS protocols, clinical protocols and clinical review requirements. Requires knowledge of contractual, regulatory and compliance requirements for government payers, self-funded and commercial payers. Ensures appropriate and accurate information is entered into the claims system for processing of payment.
Education
* Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy required. For Registered Nurses, a Bachelor of Science in nursing is required.
Certification/Licensure
Required license must be valid in state of practice. One of the following qualifies:
* Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - State license - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - State license - North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board (NCSWCLB) OR
* Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - State license - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP) OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - State license - North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (NCBLCMHC) OR
