Pros of working at AMC Theatres

I liked meeting people around my age (14-17). It was also a good experience for working on social skills.

Cons of working at AMC Theatres

There was little to no movement with schedules, I was scheduled outside my work times, sometimes interfering with school. There were also a few problems with coworkers being creepy towards me and others. Also the fair share of rude customers.

AMC Theatres Benefits

We got a free regular sized popcorn every shift, half off snacks, and 2 free movie tickets to my memory every month. There would also be occasional times we could see some movies before they were out to the general public.

How is your management? I worked for a dine in AMC and it was the messiest run place I've ever worked.

My management is actually great with the exception of 2 people. One of my supervisors is old, like in her late 50s and doesn't give a ***. And one of my managers is 20 and he's the perfect example of why a 20 year old shouldn't have that much authority. Other than those 2, the other managers and supers are really good and really on top of things, and genuinely care about their team. And considering our GM is only 25, she knows exactly what shes doing.

Do you guys get to keep the big movie posters?

We do get to keep any promotional items we receive, at management's discretion. Posters are something that they just put out for us to take after the promo period for it is up.

Is there a 401k? Do you contribute?

401k is available, however not to Film Crew or Supervisors. I believe it's available to senior and general managers, as well as people who work at or for Home Office (Marketing, district managers, etc.)

Ever see someone getting an HJ during a movie?

People having sex in the theatre houses has been a problem in the past that ended up causing a lot more work for us. When we do our routine theatre security checks, we now have to go all the way to the top of the house and back down, once on each side. I personally have caught it happening though, yes.

What's the worst thing you've had to clean up from the floor?

Any type of bodily fluid. The only kind that we aren't required to clean is blood.
