**Summary:**
Directs the ARP NA safety management system for the Plant. Is a key resource and drives the safety, fire, environmental, industrial hygiene, construction, training, and security elements of the Amcor Leadership Framework. **Job Description**
Manage all aspects of a manufacturing department including safety, quality, productivity, cost and culture in accordance to established procedures, standards and customer requirements. This role will typically exist in medium size plants and/or have oversight to 75 or less hourly employees.
**WHAT YOU GET TO DO**
+ Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
+ Establishes, maintains, communicates, and enforces safety, quality, waste and productivity standards to meet plant goals. Maintains department housekeeping per 5S and GMP (Good Mfg. Practices) standards. Maintains quality standards consistent with customer's and the company's requirements.
+ Oversees and manages the Performance Control System (PCS) for the department including establishing key performance indicators (KPI's), auditing Supervisor/Operator shift meetings, and leading department meetings. Ensures that standards are met and action item registers are maintained to document, communicate, and eliminate exceptions.
+ Works with the Plant Leadership team to determine the greatest continuous improvement opportunities in the department. Assists with the execution of CI efforts to address the opportunities and ensures standards are updated and adhered to following close out of each improvement team.
+ Provides feedback to the department and individual employees on performance against standards.
+ Supervises salaried staff of Shift Supervisors. Is responsible for all elements of supervision including hiring, terminations, recognition, discipline, training, employee relations, performance management and salary administration.
+ Ensures that Best Practice teams related to process discipline have appropriate representation. Implements changes based on recommendations of the BP team where applicable.
+ Ensures that investigations are completed for any injuries, incidents and near misses and that follow-up action items are completed in a timely manner.
+ Recommends capital projects and ensures needs, ROI and KPI related to these projects are documented and submitted per Amcor policies.
+ Ensures customer complaints are investigated, and corrective actions are implemented and evaluated for effectiveness according to established standards. This includes staff involvement and communication of the issues to crews.
+ Ensures that accurate Standard Operating Conditions (SOC's) are in place and followed. Maintains productivity standards based on SOC's, best practices and continuous improvement.

**Operator II - Entry-LV4 - Two Step Department**
**Salary Grade: Hourly**
**_Basic Function:_**
_Safely and effectively set up and operate Two-Step machines and related machinery in accordance with production requirements. Troubleshoot problems to maintain operational efficiency and quality. Retrieve and record related production data and communicate effectively with coworkers to maintain production flow and respond to changes in production schedule._
**Essential Function and Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for achieving assigned goals in the areas of safety, quality, production, performance, and cost.
+ Follow all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook, and as stated in the various safety-related training programs. Understand and communicate all hazards and safety issues to the appropriate personnel. Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
+ Maintain a safe and clean work area in accordance with Company standards.
+ Complete regarding computer-based training (CBTs) and behavioral safety observations (BSOs) before or by the deadline.
+ Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) as documented in the policy.
+ Set up and operate all equipment following the Company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the Two-Step Department including, but not limited to: Sidels, date coder, leak detector, Alpine bottle lift, preform dumper, lane diverter, and antistat booth.
+ Assist appropriate personnel on mold changes, line clears, and PM's based on schedule.
+ Perform required Operator Preventative Maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment.
+ Perform daily operator checks and hourly visual checks on product. Accurately identify quality issues and communicate quality problems/concerns to supervisor and/or appropriate quality personnel. Assist with quality containment for escapes - Add
+ Complete required data collection including but not limited to: process sheets, process deviation logs in FMS, daily operator checks, housekeeping sheets, partial Gaylord tickets, and downtime reports.
+ Follow and escalate appropriate downtime events to Frontline Leadership. Add
+ Verify accurate downtime vs production through face to face discussions with team members in Downstream and other areas. Add
+ Add - Accurately account for preform usage or consumption. Verify all tickets are entered in preform use log in the correct order using first in first out (FIFO) methodology.
+ Enter Master Process parameters, set cams and adjust air pressures when setting up for a new container after a tooling changeover. Leverage available tools, including Master Process tools, standard processing for relevant defects - Add
+ Troubleshoot problems as they arise. Communicate machinery and equipment problems to supervisor and/or maintenance personnel accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Use appropriate computer systems to view production schedule in order to understand what product is running as well as any upcoming tooling changes.
+ Retrieve and utilize container information using Customer Profiles and Quality Data.
+ Communicate at work station with both off-going and oncoming shifts regarding issues relevant to performance.
+ Utilize the Levels Program training to increase technical and leadership skills, as well as cross training to all Sidel Machines in order to advance within the Operator II - Sidel Function.
+ Review standard work, hour by hour boards, fast action safety boards - Add
+ Cover breaks, lunches, and other staffing needs - Add
+ May perform other assignments at the direction of frontline leaders.
**Reporting Relationship:** This position reports directly to the Frontline Leaders
**Education/Experience:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential functions. **Education & Experience:** High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous blow-molding, plastics experience is preferred. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Incumbent must have the ability to interpret and carry out instructions, including Work Instructions, Master Process Book and SOP's. Must be able to work a 12-hour shift schedule. Incumbent must be willing to demonstrate schedule flexibility as business needs require as well as for coverage for vacations and other absences.
**Physical:** Must be capable of standing and walking on production floor for length of production shift with standard breaks. Will be required to lift/carry up to 60 lbs. occasionally. Must occasionally squat, bend, kneel, reach, etc., in order to carry out essential functions of the position. Oversees and manages the Performance Control System (PCS) for the department including establishing key performance indicators (KPI's), auditing Supervisor/Operator shift meetings, and leading department meetings. Ensures that standards are met and action item registers are maintained to document, communicate, and eliminate exceptions.
Works with the Plant Leadership team to determine the greatest continuous improvement opportunities in the department. Assists with the execution of CI efforts to address the opportunities and ensures standards are updated and adhered to following close out of each improvement team.
Provides feedback to the department and individual employees on performance against standards.
Supervises salaried staff of Shift Supervisors. Is responsible for all elements of supervision including hiring, terminations, recognition, discipline, training, employee relations, performance management and salary administration.
Ensures that Best Practice teams related to process discipline have appropriate representation. Implements changes based on recommendations of the BP team where applicable.
Ensures that investigations are completed for any injuries, incidents and near misses and that follow-up action items are completed in a timely manner.
Recommends capital projects and ensures needs, ROI and KPI related to these projects are documented and submitted per Amcor policies.
Ensures customer complaints are investigated, and corrective actions are implemented and evaluated for effectiveness according to established standards. This includes staff involvement and communication of the issues to crews.
Ensures that accurate Standard Operating Conditions (SOC's) are in place and followed. Maintains productivity standards based on SOC's, best practices and continuous improvement.
Promotes a strong safety culture and environment.

Summary:
Directs the ARP NA safety management system for the Plant. Is a key resource and drives the safety, fire, environmental, industrial hygiene, construction, training, and security elements of the Amcor Leadership Framework. Works with and supports and enforces plant management in developing, implementing and monitoring the plant's overall safety system and initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Conducts periodic safety-related audits/inspections / analysis to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance, prepares action plans, and works with appropriate individuals to ensure successful completion.
Collects data analyzes trends, gaps, etc. and makes recommendations for the plant for EHS initiatives.
Ensures Job Safety Analyses and Risk Assessments on all key areas in the plant are conducted and reviewed regularly.
Collaborates with appropriate department personnel to resolve identified hazards.
Reviews incident investigation reports. Works with appropriate plant staff to ensure investigation is complete and root cause has been established. Enters final report into the corporate incident database.
Assists in monitoring contractors and construction activities to ensure safe work practices are being followed.
Ensures the monthly plant safety committee meetings happen regularly and add value to plant operations by bringing coworkers into safety leadership for the facility.
Presents safety-related information both internally and externally using meetings, message boards, and other written / verbal communication methods as appropriate.
Identify or develop and implement programs to encourage, reward and recognize employee safe behavior, involvement, and commitment toward plant safety. Monitors the corporate and/or plant safety incentive programs.
Manages all personal protective equipment programs, to include, but not limited to safety shoes, safety prescription glasses, gloves, etc. Works with appropriate vendor to manage usage and distribution.
Maintains and updates pertinent information in Material Safety Data Sheet electronic system.
Acts as the primary point of contact during internal and external safety, fire and environmental audits, including OSHA inspections to ensure successful completion of audit.
Maintains the OSHA 300 log and posts, annually, as required.
Coordinates onsite efforts with W/C carrier and Human Resources Manager.
Develops annual safety budget. Monitors spending to meet or exceed spending goals.
Works closely with the respective Regional Safety Manager and Corporate Safety Manager to ensure alignment of safety programs and timely delivery.
Responsible for internal (employees) and external (contractors, visitors, etc.) safety training. Identifies training requirements using regulatory guidelines and needs assessments.
Designs, develops, implements and presents training in-house or identifies and contracts with external training resources. Training to include forklift, LOTO, Arc Flash, First Aid, CPR, EAD, First Responder. etc.
Monitors participation of plant personnel with computer-based safety training, safety observations, management audits, etc. Partners with Human Resources Manager to address non-compliance.
Ensures execution of Safety Contract review as deemed necessary by the Plant Manager.
Schedules the on-site hearing test on an annual basis with the assistance of the HR Manager.
Ensure that appropriate safety and ergonomic processes and methods are being utilized.
Identify needs relating to improvements in safety/ergonomics and assist in developing and implementing solutions to these issues.
Establish metrics to monitor financial savings as compared to established goals and targets.
Be member of the plant leadership team and participate in and support all training, meetings and social events.
Any other activity as required to ensure organizational success.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in EH&S, Industrial Safety, or related field
Three plus years experience in the safety or continuous improvement field in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibility, preferably in the plastics industry.
Experience in ergonomic analysis and application
Experience working with construction / contractors in a manufacturing environment
Possess professional written / verbal communication skills to include technical reports and small / large group presentations.
Ability to effectively communicate with plant and corporate personnel
Certifications: Prefer Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Strong change management skills to include the practical implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Concepts.
Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

Job Description: Possibility Unpacked
What you'll do:
Identify, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and documents maintenance concerns/resolutions in an electronic database; providing action plans and status reports as needed.
Responds to emergency requests for repairs/replacements, including fire system malfunctions which may be reported during off-hours.
Ensures that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, State and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Perform machine shop work operating various machines such as drill presses, grinders, MIG/TIG/stick welders, plasma torches, cutting equipment (i.e. chop saw), pneumatic tools and electric/manual hand tools
Performs welding fabrication (both stick and gas) in various locations and positions including pipe and structural on various metals for new and existing equipment.
Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials and work area.
Responsible for providing coverage in the absence of other Maintenance Technicians.

Preferred qualifications:
High level of experience and proficiency in the function, mechanics, and operation of all Maintenance equipment
Computer and Software knowledge
Able to work well with others / self motivated
Strong mechanical skills Strong Attendance and Safety Record
Be able to work both independently and in a team environment, completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility.
Be able to safely complete the physical tasks associated with the essential job functions. These tasks include extensive climbing, walking, lifting, bending, standing, carrying, and squatting.
1 - 3 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment
