The Role:

BIOS Firmware Engineer - 111347

The Role:

We are looking for a Firmware Engineer with an obsession for BIOS Coreboot firmware skills to work with our system platform teams in Austin.

The Person:

Should be adept in BIOS Firmware development working on system platforms with a focus on APU and CPU technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, debug, and verify System Software (UEFI Firmware/coreboot/BIOS) for internal/external systems and platforms that use AMD APU/CPU, AMD chipset, and 3rd party chipsets.
* Participant in day-to-day Firmware development work as key part of global organization mainly using C languages; will need to interact with internal organizations and customers.
* Assist APU/CPU validation, platform validation, and debug engineers to develop/debug system and silicon issues.
* Provide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements.

Preferred Experience:

* Majored in Computer Science, Computer Software Engineering or Electronic Engineering, etc.
* You should have knowledge and proficiency in at least one of the following areas:
* C/C++ Languages
* Perl/Python script
* Adept with x86 and/or AMD64 architecture
* Good knowledge of ARM architecture
* Comfortable working with PC hardware and platform issues
* Experience with UEFI or coreboot, BIOS, firmware, or system software development
* Knowledge about ACPI, USB, PCIE, SATA and other PC industry standard
* X86 Assembly/HTML/JavaScript/Typescript/Angular web frontend and backend programming and debugging is a plus
* Proficient in both written and spoken English to work optimally within a highly collaborative environment with colleagues around the world with strong passion for learning.
