THE ROLE:
We are looking for a hardworking and dedicated Engineer to join the SOC Power Algorithms and Software Features team in the AMD Client Computing and Graphics group. Power architects guide SoCs from early concept stages through design execution and post silicon. This role involves collaboration with many teams across including SoC architecture definition, IP design, integration/physical design, platform architecture, software, firmware, packaging, and silicon validation. Contributions have a direct impact on the power & performance of AMD's Client products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Define new Power Algorithms and Software Features. Utilize latest ML techniques to optimize CPU, GPU power and performance
* Profile latest LLMs and NN workloads running on Client products to optimize power and performance by tuning algorithms
* Lead in developing complex power control algorithms across SoC roadmap, prototype, implement and optimize control software and features to ensure power objectives and goals are met.
* Create innovative power reduction initiatives and methodologies and drive cross-organization alignment with product teams for implementation towards power convergence.
* Must be hands on with development boards, lab equipment and flashing new firmware to checkout power and performance
* Work closely with world-wide design teams on the implementation, verification, post silicon analysis and review of power management solutions.
* Optimize PC use cases in terms of absolute power and also in relative performance per watt.
* Work directly with leading operating system vendors on power management control.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Extensive experience doing SoC, power control algorithms, software architecture and debug across SoCs.

THE ROLE:
Our growing team plays a major role in architecting and shaping data center GPUs offered by AMD. As part of the Exerciser team, you will architect and develop low-level GPU testcases ("exercisers") to expose silicon and software bugs. This will require strong collaboration with stakeholders from design, emulation, driver, firmware, and debug teams.
Candidates with a background or strong skills in both GPU and systems programming (Linux kernel and userspace) will excel in this role. The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
