About The Position The Senior Commodity Settlement Specialist is a member of the Ameren Services Finance organization. The commodity settlements team ensures the accurate and timely settlement of over $3 billion in gross annual centralized market (Independent System Operator) transactions as well as physical and financial commodity transactions. As a member of the Settlements team, the Specialist works in a high-performing, team-based environment pursuing the goal of being the 'center of excellence' for commodity settlements and analysis. Team members work under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Commodity Settlements and frequently collaborate with other departments throughout the organization, including accounting, regulatory, trading, and business line leadership. Key responsibilities include: Drive continuous improvement through automating the team's manual processes. Be a subject matter expert for commodity settlements and Back Office operations. Prepare monthly operational analysis in support of trade strategies. Deliver timely and accurate commodity settlements and analysis in support of our business line partners. Understand the business drivers of profitability to resolve discrepancies discovered in the settlement process and propose agreeable solutions. Provide value-add financial and market analysis to internal customers and stakeholders. Interpret complex contracts and tariffs in order to understand and ensure accuracy of financial implications. Proactively refine data analytical tools and settlement processes to ensure they are consistent with industry best practices. Advise leadership of financial results and opportunities for continuous improvement. Advise the business lines of changing market practices and considerations for long-term opportunities. Define and adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley control standards and procedures. Collaborate with Internal and External Audit in fulfilling regulatory requirements and other control standards. Qualifications - Senior Commodity Settlement Specialist Bachelor's Degree in Business or other technical discipline from an accredited college or university required. Five or more years experience in general business, accounting, or finance required. An advanced degree or certification (e.g. MBA or CPA) is preferred and will be considered towards years of experience. Advanced IT systems experience and/or data analysis preferred. Utility and/or commodity trading experience preferred.. Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards required. Seven or more years' experience in general business, accounting, or finance, with experience in financial statistical analysis and handling large datasets from various data sources is required. Maintain thorough knowledge of programs, codes, standards and operating experience and how they relate to the plant. Perform safety evaluation screening, disposition of nonconformance reports, disposition Requests for Resolution (RFRs) to include Engineering Evaluations, Setpoint Changes, Minor Modifications, and Material Equivalencies for equipment within assigned system/area/component groups. Perform engineering evaluations and reviews of applicable NRC and INPO documents and review, use, and share Operating Experience. Interface with other departments for cost effective maintenance strategies on assigned systems/area. Support changes in configuration/design and design basis. Provide technical support in the preparation of procedure revisions or temporary changes to procedures. Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to assigned ERO facilities within the required RERP response time. Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) Registration/Licensure preferred. Previous nuclear utility and/or related experience preferred. Previous I&C experience preferred. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Good leadership, decision making, communication and human relations skills required. Security screening required for Callaway Energy Center access. Working Conditions The Systems Engineer works a standard day shift in an office/plant environment. Additional hours and/or rotating shifts may be required during refueling outages and emergent plant activities as the needs arise.
