About The Position: The Director, HR Business Partners- Nuclear for the Callaway Energy Center plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of workforce strategies and processes to enable station and company performance and to shape an engaging work environment. This role resides at the Callaway Energy Center in Fulton, Missouri and partners closely with senior leaders at the Callaway Energy Center. In addition, this role is a member of the Corporate HR Strategy Team and reports to the Vice President, Human Resources. This position is hybrid and will work on-site 3-5 days per week to allow for collaboration with the leadership team. Periodic travel to Ameren's Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri and Nuclear Industry events will be required. Key responsibilities include: Lead a small team of HR professionals on-site at the Callaway Energy Center and partner closely with members of the broader HR team and Callaway leadership team to deliver on Callaway's most important workforce needs. Ensure a strong understanding of both the Nuclear Industry's standards, Ameren's workforce programs and processes, and the current/future needs of the Station to continuously identify and execute on the most important workforce priorities. Chair the People Health Committee meetings (a monthly engagement between Callaway and HR leadership designed to ensure ongoing alignment around Callaway's workforce priorities and to ensure mutual accountability for the execution of those priorities). This role will focus the majority of its time on strategic workforce priorities (ensuring strong execution of talent processes including succession planning, partnering with station leadership to address top priority talent needs or challenges, ensuring an optimized and effective organization structure, serving as a liaison with the HR function, etc.) Effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) the alignment between Callaway's strategic priorities and workforce-related priorities (including key focus areas and outcomes) to a wide-range of stakeholders (which may include senior executives, the Board of Directors, Industry leaders, Regulators, etc.) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant business-related discipline (business, human resources, etc.) required. An advanced degree in business or another relevant field preferred. Ten or more years of progressively responsible human resources experience is required. Five or more years of experience leading people or projects is required. Direct people leadership experience, senior-level HR Business Partner experience and/or senior-level talent management experience is preferred. Experience leading talent management processes (succession planning, performance management, leadership and team development, etc.) is preferred. HR (or similar) experience in the nuclear, energy, or a related industry is preferred. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will possess the following capabilities: Strong relationship builder and collaborator, with the ability to quickly build rapport and trust and to maintain this over time through the demonstration of values and integrity. Ability to work effectively in a matrixed structure. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate strategy into a tangible plan. Strong organization and structuring skills. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively verbally, in written form, and interpersonally with senior leaders and external partners. Strong ability to effectively simplify and synthesize complex information with the end-user in mind. Strong problem-solving orientation, with the ability to quickly understand complex information and assess/identify pragmatic solutions. Strong learning orientation, with the ability to quickly make sense of, simplify and integrate complex information to enable productive solutions. A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, including a focus on leveraging technology, automation, and analytics to facilitate strong operational performance. Additional Information: Ameren's selection process will include a series of interviews, including a behavioral interview. In addition, a formal leadership assessment will be conducted as a component of the final selection process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. Compensation Range: $135,500.00 - $210,000.00 At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance. Director and above positions also include a Long-Term Incentive Plan and the option to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the end-to-end workers compensation benefits program, including managing cases, claims tracking, reporting and coordination with carriers, Legal and Safety teams Oversee the return-to-work process and Light Duty Plan administration, ensuring employee and management compliance with restrictions and treatment plans Work with employees at all levels of the organization to manage claims, coordinate treatment, develop accommodation plans, answer questions, address concerns, mitigate risk, etc. Monitor state-specific requirements regarding compliance and workers compensation to provide updates and identify necessary changes across multiple jurisdictions and government agencies Assist with the update of policies and training materials; make recommendations related to best practices, internal governance Serve as main point of contact for insurance carriers and brokers; host regular review meetings to review claim trends, assess risk, and discuss risk mitigation strategies Perform comprehensive internal audits to assess state of compliance and regulatory readiness, always ensuring audit preparedness Prepare monthly executive-level reports for senior leadership; complete trend analyses, identify top risk categories, provide status updates on cases, EMR, etc. Directly support Safety, Legal and HR Strategy for Mergers/Acquisitions as it relates to benefits compliance and workers compensation Partner with Payroll to ensure benefits deductions, medical leaves, workers compensation payments, and pay details are accurate and compliant Performs other position duties when requested SUCCESS FACTORS: Up to 20% Travel Ability Nationwide A strong belief in ZERO- Being Safe 100% of the time is the expectation Alignment with company mission, vision, and values A high level of customer centricity Strong work ethic with an ALL-IN attitude Strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members Ability to perform in a fast paced/high volume environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills A high level of time management, accountability, and prioritization skills Ability to be organized, problem solve, and be solution oriented Self-motivated, goal- oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals Strong presentation skills; can create and present to a diverse audience High level of professionalism and confidentiality Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, copy/fax, and smartphones When working on site, we are required to wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel toed boots etc... EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, Operations, or Compliance required 2+ years of Workers Compensation Management experience required 2+ years of formal Project Management experience required, preferably within HR/People Operations Experience within a construction environment/industry strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field strongly preferred High School Diploma or equivalent required Valid Drivers License required The starting pay for this position is $105,000 a year and is determined based on skillset and experience.
