About The Position
The Senior Commodity Settlement Specialist is a member of the Ameren Services Finance organization. The commodity settlements team ensures the accurate and timely settlement of over $3 billion in gross annual centralized market (Independent System Operator) transactions as well as physical and financial commodity transactions. As a member of the Settlements team, the Specialist works in a high-performing, team-based environment pursuing the goal of being the 'center of excellence' for commodity settlements and analysis. Team members work under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Commodity Settlements and frequently collaborate with other departments throughout the organization, including accounting, regulatory, trading, and business line leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
Drive continuous improvement through automating the team's manual processes.
Be a subject matter expert for commodity settlements and Back Office operations.
Prepare monthly operational analysis in support of trade strategies.
Deliver timely and accurate commodity settlements and analysis in support of our business line partners.
Understand the business drivers of profitability to resolve discrepancies discovered in the settlement process and propose agreeable solutions.
Provide value-add financial and market analysis to internal customers and stakeholders.
Interpret complex contracts and tariffs in order to understand and ensure accuracy of financial implications.

DUTIES:
Under direct, indirect, or intermittent supervision, and working on a rotating shift schedule or day schedule as required, to do a general range of highly skilled electric arc, gas welding and cutting, brazing, pipefitting and insulation installation and/or removal on all varieties of power plant equipment. Immediate responsibility at times for the working direction of an apprentice. Work includes a general range of highly skilled electric and gas welding brazing and cutting on boiler pressure parts, pressure vessels, and piping in accordance with the applicable ASME codes and which are subject to insurance underwriters inspection and certification requirements. In addition, perform other maintenance work on heavy mechanical equipment such as repair or replacement of leaking or weakened boiler tubes; structural steel erection; replacement of liner plates in fans, coal chutes and hoppers; welding repairs to castings and equipment; fitting and welding of all sizes of piping and valves, including items such as measuring, laying out, cutting, threading, bending, fitting and installation of pipe and tubing, replacement of flange, valve, and heater gaskets; valve repacking, repair and overhaul; cleaning and replacement of condenser and heat exchanger tubes; where applicable, the repair of traveling water screens. Job Purpose:
Responsible for operating equipment for stopping, starting, and/or regulating power plant boilers, steam generators, and systems under the direction of a Unit Operator or station management; inspect and maintain plant equipment, steam turbines, power boilers, turbine driven generators, mechanical and electrical auxiliaries, fuel systems, ash handling equipment, lubricating systems, and water recirculation and treatment systems; monitor the automatic control functions of auxiliary equipment; manually operate breakers, circuits, valves, switches and similar equipment; determine operating status of equipment from previous shift personnel, log book entries, local inspection and observation of equipment, instrumentation, and controls; review and edit station's operating procedures and technical instructions; operate ash and slag handling equipment; is a member of the station's fire brigade or acts as station fire guide for outside fire departments; perform all activities in accordance with applicable health, safety, and environmental standards; utilize computer and other technology based work management systems as may be required in performing work duties; perform all activities in a high quality manner to achieve best industry practice; perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties; troubleshoot plant malfunctions; interact with station personnel, contractors and others to perform equipment operator functions; respond to overtime requests as needed; handle special assignments; and perform related work as required.
Essential Functions:
* Operate equipment under the direction of a Unit Operator or station management, for maximum efficiency and output while maintaining environmental compliance and safety.
* Monitor equipment conditions using all indications available in the control room, on site, and portable test equipment.
* Diagnose equipment problems, report abnormal conditions to the Unit Operator or station management, and prepare detailed work requests for plant defects.
* Read, interpret, and implement technical information found in manufacturer's and OEM technical manuals, electrical and mechanical P &IDs, and operating and maintenance procedures.
* Inspect plant and equipment, including carrying out scheduled plant checks, and prepare necessary reports and log entries; ensure maintenance requests are completed to a satisfactory standard; assist in planning, organizing, and executing unit outages for inspections, overhauls, repairs and cleaning.
* Prepare work permits and administer the SAFE Access to Plant, or similar systems, as it applies to the equipment for which the Equipment Operator is responsible.
* Perform disconnect switching and electrical and maintenance operations to place equipment in and out of service; render electrical circuits and mechanical equipment safe for permit work.
* Monitor and as necessary perform routine chemical analysis of plant water to determine the chemical constituents and take corrective action to maintain plant quality within prescribed limits as required.
* Prepare, maintain, and administer procedures and reports related to the operation, monitoring and maintenance of the plant; maintain accurate logs of daily operations, complete check sheets, change charts and ink recorders.
* Prepare work orders and input data into work history file.
* Prepare and maintain quality assurance procedures and technical instructions and actively supports and participate in the use and continuous development of the quality management system.
* Assist in the planning and layout of jobs including parts and equipment identification and ordering needed to complete the job.
* Assist Unit Operator with control room activities.

Job Summary:
Working together under general supervision inspect, clean, adjust, calibrate and repair a variety of instruments, gauges, digital and optical systems, flow meters, and transmitters; write calibration procedures, interpret technical manuals, read electrical and mechanical blueprints, schematics, and preventive maintenance procedures and practices; perform basic technical skills such as soldering, pipe fitting, diagnose and troubleshoot problems with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems; safe control and operation of plant equipment, within limits, for maximum efficiency and output; is a member of the station's fire brigade or acts as station fire guide for outside fire departments; perform all activities in accordance with applicable health, safety, and environmental standards; utilize computer and other technology based work management systems as may be required in performing work duties; perform all activities in a high quality manner to achieve best industry practice; perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties; interact with station personnel, contractors, and others to perform instrument mechanic functions; respond to overtime requests as needed; handle special assignments; and perform related work as required.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
* Locate and correct trouble in control systems and instruments of combustion equipment, turbines, chlorinators, water treatment systems and station auxiliary equipment.
* Inspect, maintain, clean, calibrate, replace, and repair electrical and mechanical instruments and controls.
* Inspect, clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and repair such instruments as manometers, gauges, flow meters, thermometers, air operated control valves, and other mechanical instrument and control devices.
* Read, interpret, and implement technical information found in manufacturers and OEM technical manuals, electrical and mechanical P &IDs, and operating and maintenance procedures.
* Test electronic equipment and replace defective components.
* Prepare work permits and administer the SAFE Access to Plant, or similar systems, as it applies to the equipment under the control of the Instrument Mechanic.
* Request the ordering of replacement parts and other necessary supplies.
* Test electronic circuits.
* Assist in the planning and layout of jobs including parts and equipment identification and ordering needed to complete the job.
* Prepare work orders and input data into work history file.
* Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment as required.
* Maintain equipment repair history in MIMS and other technology based computer systems.
* Participate in ongoing training to maintain and enhance skills required to perform all Instrument Mechanic duties and assist in the training of others.
* Assist other job classifications as may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two year EET Degree or EAS Electronic Automated Systems Degree or equivalent, journeymen level experience and knowledge of Bailey, Loveland, Allen Bradley, Westinghouse WDPF or similar systems strongly preferred.

The MWRD Law Department is seeking Interns for the summer of 2026. Law Department Interns will work on at least one substantive project, including possible litigation opportunities, from each of the Law Department's major practice areas: Environmental, Construction and Torts; Employment; User Charge/Cost Recovery; Real Estate; and Legislation and Contracts.
