Located in the heart of Chicago, the American Academy of Art offers the beauty and resources of the Windy City with a unique approach to art education. Unlike some similar institutions, the American Academy of Art is a professionally minded school. Its focus is not just on your education, but also on beginning your career as an artist. The school offers career services to all of its students, which make every effort to place you in a job after graduation. The American Academy of Art academics consist of a liberal arts foundation and extensive studio training. The Academy currently offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in a wide variety of subjects, including: * Illustration (optional Digital Illustration specialization) * Design * Multimedia/Web Design * 3-D Modeling and Animation * Painting (Oil and Water Color specializations) * Photography The Academy also participates in a number of financial aid programs, such as Pell grants, SEOG grants, and Stafford loans. There are also a limited number of merit scholarships available to those who qualify. For example, the Senior Scholarship Competition awards eight scholarships each year. The award covers full tuition for a half semester, a full semester, or two semesters, depending on where you place in the competition.
