You'll collaborate with engineers and production teams, set up and operate CNC machines, and maintain high quality standards. A strong background in CNC programming, proficiency in CAD/CAM tools, and a problem-solving mindset are essential. This role will be onsite 5 days a week at our Plymouth, MI location Responsibilities Review assigned Jira tickets to determine material, tooling, fixturing requirements with autonomy. Ability to sort through tasks using the Critical Path Method to complete assigned machining requests in the most optimal order to meet deadlines and increase machine uptime. Discuss with engineering teams the issues related to manufacturability or timing, provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback, modify in CAD submitted parts as discussed to ensure successful completion of task. Ability to quickly summarize part requirements, apply roughing toolpaths and get machine running in as little time as possible (often operate the GUI Control and Setup of high end multi-axis machining centers. Understand speeds/feeds, depth of cuts and all other tool cutting parameters for wide variety of materials, and the ability to apply these quickly to process jobs with a minimum of delay. Participate in team/ peer discussions with suggestions on how to process the more complicated jobs, including fixturing and tooling requirements. Quick setup of mission critical parts which could disrupt company production schedules, and prevent excessive costs incurred by outside vendors. Review large quantity jobs to optimize program toolpaths, speeds, and feeds to reduce overall processing time Perform inspection tasks to ensure part conforms to required critical dimensions and specifications utilizing advanced GD&T and engineering drawing reading abilities, using standard measurement equipment (verniers, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, gauge pins, height gauges) Utilize 3D Scanning Equipment and corresponding software (Polyworks) for full virtual inspection of machined parts. Machine maintenance including monitor filters, oil and grease levels, machine calibration and adjustment Qualifications 10+ years experience in fabrication, welding and manual machining Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code.
