The Division of Administration and Finance provides services and support to over 45,000 students, faculty, and staff at Cal State Fullerton. It is the mission of the division to provide customer focused support and steward our physical and financial resources to fulfill the university's mission and support student success. The University Police Department (UPD) provides contemporary law enforcement safety services including patrol, public safety, traffic, investigations, community engagement, crime prevention, and security services.
Under general supervision, the Campus Safety Specialist performs security, public safety support, community engagement, and related community service functions to support a safe, inclusive, and welcoming campus environment for all Titans to thrive. As a team member of UPD, the Campus Safety Specialist shall support efforts to ensure equity and inclusion are incorporated into department operations, programs, services, and culture. The Campus Safety Specialist represents UPD and Cal State Fullerton by providing exceptional customer service while supporting the safety needs of the campus community.
A Campus Safety Specialist patrols the University on foot, bicycle, and vehicle to maintain high visibility to protect the campus community and visitors from fire, theft, vandalism, threats, and other safety concerns. Provide safety support to designated social workers and/or police officers during the response to people in crisis for situations that do not involve weapon(s) or violence. When directed, the Campus Safety Specialist will transport people in crisis to designated facilities. They will also provide safety escorts to community members. Assists in the education, intervention, and enforcement of campus policies and regulations. Proactively monitor security cameras and download footage to support investigations as part of the department's crime prevention efforts as well as assist dispatch in answering non-emergency phone calls when needed.
The Campus Safety Specialist will assist the campus community in the event of an emergency pursuant to their training and department protocols including assistance with evacuations and rendering immediate assistance to those in need. Perform other administrative, security, and loss prevention related functions for the campus including at the bookstore, library, and other areas as deemed necessary. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. Requires successful completion of a background check and physical exam. Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn how to use the applicable public safety related equipment and systems is required. Under general supervision, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment. Patrols campus grounds, responding to non-violent incidents, enforcing policies, and aiding students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Ability to detect and respond appropriately to potential hazards, safety emergencies, and/or crime situations. Ability to effectively communicate and de-escalate non-violent crisis situations. Ability to observe and recall details and incidents. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. Ability to prepare standard incident reports in a clear and concise manner. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. APPOINTMENT AND SALARY

APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
APPOINTMENT AND SALARY
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.

Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) or other medical assistant credential issued by AAMA accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or AMT accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) required by local, state and/or federal laws or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date.

Delivering clinical instruction according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods; develops daily lesson plans; advises and tutors students; maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records; remains current in applicable program teaching field; participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in-service training sessions.
Serving as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator.

Your Experience Includes:
3 years of occupational experience in the subject field or in a closely related field.
Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by:
(A) One (1) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area;
OR
(B) One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency.
Completion of at least one (1) years' experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing.
Must demonstrate training in educational methods, testing and evaluation and evidence strength in instructional methodology, delivery and techniques as indicated by evaluation by supervisory personnel within 30 days of beginning instruction.
Working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process desirable.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed.
Education:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college which shall include courses in nursing, or in natural, behavioral, or social sciences relevant to nursing practice (BRN regulation).
Completion of at least one (1) years' experience teaching courses related to RN or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing (BRN regulation).
Licenses/Certifications:
Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in California required.
