Pros of working at American Electric Power

Semi-easy workload depending on your department.

Cons of working at American Electric Power

Complicated processes. Constantly changing. Management becoming strict about working from home on expected in-office days, even when sick. Contractors get next to no benefits unless you fight for them.

American Electric Power benefits

semi-easy work load and hybrid work model.

What do you like best about American Electric Power's CEO and the leadership team?

My supervisor is fantastic and very in-touch with the process. I cannot comment on anyone above them as our voice is never heard higher up.

How would you improve American Electric Power's culture?

Relying less on contractors and start hiring from within. There is terribly high turnover and unwillingness to stay with the company since they show we cannot be promoted within easily.

How did you prepare for the American Electric Power interview?

I was given the job description and information about what questions could be asked as well as being told to provide examples of qualifications posted in the job listing.

How does your compensation at American Electric Power compare to the industry average?

After fighting for a slight pay raise to keep me with the company, I would say it is about company average, but they will not start you that way.

What's the diversity at American Electric Power like?

I feel that the organization is pushing for further diversity.

What brings you the most joy at American Electric Power?

Company events. Outside of that there is not much to look forward to other than a paycheck.
