The Opportunity The candidate selected for this position will be on the Mainframe Security Team, which manages the Host Network Connectivity for application areas across the association. The Mainframe Security Team is one of several teams on the Host and Batch Services Team where availability, reliability, and resilience are a priority. As part of this team, the candidate selected will learn how to manage certificates, ensure secure encryption, monitor traffic across the host network, support incident management, resolve vulnerabilities, and resolve customer requests related to network connectivity or security on the mainframe. Must be available to work an on-call rotation a minimum of once per month during evenings and weekends. Within defined guidelines and framework, responsible for creating, modifying, maintaining and supporting infrastructure and individual system components that enable business functions and IT Services. Balance availability, security, efficiency, and functional requirements to help provide an optimized production service. Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensure these risks are effectively identified and escalated to be measured, monitored and controlled. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX or Plano, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. What you'll do: Under direct supervision, design scalable IT system infrastructure, implements system changes with some independence; may automate service delivery, maintenance tasks, and builds the ecosystem for solutions including individual infrastructure components. Resolves simple technology production issues with some assistance through troubleshooting systems. Identifies issues for escalation. Analyzes outages in order to identify opportunities for solutions. Developing level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, risk management, industry practices and emerging trends. Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.
