JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must possess knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to laboratory purposes.
Knowledge of required specimen preservation, adequate patient preparation and specimen procedures.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision and accurately maintain time sheet records.
Maintains all equipment in good working orders and reports problems immediately to supervisor.
When on duty, answers company issued mobile device promptly, checks-in and checks-out of client facilities always, and is ready and available to work.
Completes and timely submits written logs, time sheets, and other required records in a neat and accurate manner.
Must have a current and valid Driver's License and required Auto Insurance.
Must have a reliable vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements.
Must maintain a good driving record.
Proficient in written/verbal skills in the English language.

**Requirements**
+ High school diploma or GED. Certified as a Phlebotomist, Donor Processor, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer.
+ Typically requires 4 years of related experience with performing phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing duties with demonstrated proficiency to handle difficult situations.
**Occupational Demands Form # 73:** Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while performing functions in plasma freezers. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear. THE ROLE: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Morning and Second Shift Available
A Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory testing and reporting laboratory findings to physicians. The skills requirements for a Medical Technician I include: Occupational Specific, Technical Skills, Personal and Professional. AHA's MLT must meet the personnel responsibilities per CLIA Sec. 493.1495: Standard Testing personnel responsibilities.
As AHA's MLT, you will be expected to follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed. Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance. Can identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the technical supervisor, clinical consultant, or director. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
Apply the principles, theory and techniques of the practice of laboratory medicine to produce and report appropriate. Perform, interpret and record Quality Control data in all departments as appropriate. Records corrective actions where appropriate. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation as prescribed in procedures. Record corrective action where appropriate. Must participate in continuing education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

**Primary responsibilities for role:**
+ Maintain the ability to perform any/all tasks within the plasma center; fulfill the role of production employees and supervise donor flow.

**Requirements**
+ High school diploma or GED. Certified as a Phlebotomist, Donor Processor, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer.
+ Typically requires 4 years of related experience with performing phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing duties with demonstrated proficiency to handle difficult situations.
**Occupational Demands Form # 73:** Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while performing functions in plasma freezers. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear. Work is performed both standing for up to 4 to 6 hours per day and sitting 1 to 2 hours per day each. The position does require bending and twisting of neck up from 1 to 2 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on one's heels on rare occasion. Infrequently bends and twists at waist. Light lifting of 15lbs. with a maximum lift of 50lbs. May reach below shoulder height. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye.
