SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the position is to ensure the highest quality and cleanliness of resident care available, support staff and establish a positive reputation in the community while delivering on the Eduro HealthCare Values of wellness, compassion, customer experience and company results. This position is responsible for the proper care and cleanliness of facility laundry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Adherence to Policies
Must show courtesy and respect to other employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, the general public, etc.

Maintain good personal hygiene and dress and groom appropriately.
Report on time as scheduled and follow all company policies and procedures.
Attend staff meetings and in-service sessions.
Become thoroughly familiar with emergency procedures.
Must be able to perform duties in a timely fashion, and within the prescribed sequences and schedules.
Must be cooperative with other departments and be courteous and respectful in dealing with them at all times.
Participate in and respond professionally to surveys (inspections) conducted by government agencies.
LAUNDRY DUTIES include
The primary purpose of your position is to maintain laundry in an efficient, clean, orderly, safe and sanitary manner to ensure clean clothing and linen are always available to meet the needs of the residents.
All laundry must be done according to sanitation procedures, safety precautions, infection control and universal precautions.
Sort resident clothing and linen into appropriate bins. Soak soiled laundry (in bleach when necessary). Separate all laundry according to texture and color and then follow normal washing procedures. Dry clothing and linen according to manufacturers direction, making sure lint screens are free from lint. Fold and deliver personal clothing to resident closets, ensuring all are in correct rooms. Label unmarked clothes. Return clean linen to closets.
Make sure never to wash wool, dry clean only, and clothes to be washed by family.
All laundry must be done in a manner that will not damage contents of machine or the machine itself. This means do not overload the machine, use correct amounts of laundry detergent and keep all foreign objects away (spoons, etc.) Use proper laundry sorting procedures to ensure laundry is not damaged.
Properly clean and maintain equipment. Report malfunctions to the building maintenance supervisor or the administrator.
Assure that an adequate amount of laundry supplies are maintained in storage area to be able to perform daily tasks.
Must work with a variety of chemicals and must be aware of their use and the possible reactions. Always follow the directions on the label.
Patient Care
Be personally involved with all aspects of resident care to the extent necessary to assess its quality.
Respect all resident rights, including the confidentiality of resident care information.
Report immediately to the proper legal authorities if you have reason to believe a resident has been physically, emotionally, or sexually abused, or been a victim of theft of their personal property.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and love, giving the resident the quality of service you would want to receive personally. Reflect the four core values of Eduro HealthCare.

Education and Experience

Sort, wash, dry, weigh, and fold soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc. and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas.
Inspect and repair damaged items or notify the appropriate staff for further action.
Ensure all laundry equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to maintenance.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry area, including proper disposal of waste.
Adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination.
Collaborate with team members to manage laundry demands promptly and efficiently.
Keep accurate records of laundry processed, including usage and inventory levels.
Press or iron garments as directed.
Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents daily or as instructed.
During emergency conditions, ensure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed.
Clean floors, including sweeping, dusting, and damp/wet mopping. (NOTE: Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
Keep walls and ceilings clean by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from equipment or floor surfaces, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
Discard waste/trash into proper containers and re-line trash receptacle with plastic liner.
Keep briefs (disposable underwear) cart fully stocked and deliver briefs to residents as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to read and write or understand oral instructions and safety signage. Be physically able to meet the physical requirements and working conditions of the job. Is able to understand and operate controls on the laundry equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Picks up soiled linen from laundry chutes and soiled linen storage. Physically sorts linen into bins by laundry type, then weighs soiled linen and hangs on overhead monorail system. Empties soiled linen slings onto the washer conveyor. Unloads and stores new linens and chemicals from delivery vehicles to designated areas of laundry department. Loads and unloads clean and/or soiled linen on and off delivery truck for other entities. Monitors dryers, press, and chemical supply system to ensure continuous operation. Manually feeds sheets and blankets into ironer and/or folder. Manually feeds towels, gowns, baby blankets, etc. into small piece folders. Hand folds small linen items such as washcloths, diapers, t-shirts, and restraints. Folds and/or stacks linen as it comes out of ironer/folder and places linens on bulk storage carts. Delivers full carts to various departments and returns empty carts to laundry. Maintains a clean and safe work environment, cleans equipment and utilizes cart washer to comply with infection control standards and sanitize equipment. Other duties as assigned to facilitate work flow processes.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships: Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
