1982

Accord was the first model from a Japanese automaker to be made in America, beginning in November 1982 in Marysville, Ohio, with cumulative United States production of Accord exceeding 11 million vehicles over more than 35 years.

1983

Moreover, in 1983, the first-ever model created especially for the American market debuted.

1984

American Honda established the American Honda Foundation in 1984 on the occasion of the company's 25th anniversary.

1986

The Acura channel was launched in 1986 as American Honda's second sales network.

1989

In addition to offering aid such as funds for college reserch centers in 1989 the foundation initiated a program to support volunteerism among company employees.

1990

2015

2016

The 2016 Honda Civic is selected as the North American Car of the Year by a panel of automotive journalists.

In 2016, the FCX will come to market as the Clarity Fuel Cell sedan.

2017

In April 2017, Honda showed for the first time all three vehicles in its Clarity series – the Clarity Fuel Cell Vehicle, Clarity Electric and Clarity Plug-In Hybrid – pointing the way toward a cleaner and greener automotive future.
