    Join AIR as a Drupal Developer to support the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) project within the International Development Program. The Drupal Developer will use technology to help solve humanitarian issues across the globe, working with colleagues in North America, Africa, and Europe. Under the direction of the Web Manager, this position provides technical support and development web-based functions for the FEWS NET website. This position requires 70% of time for the next 6 months. The role requires availability during standard East Coast business hours. Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories. Responsibilities: The Drupal Developer supports documenting, archiving, updating, ensuring section 508 compliance for website content, and troubleshooting website content and operations. The responsibilities for the position include: Designing and implementing new features and functionality, ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS. Helping to formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme. Working closely with other developers and team members to ensure an effective, visually appealing, and intuitive implementation. Theming and implementing highly visible, user-facing features with data visualization components. Programming custom PHP and web application development using Drupal. Maintaining (security patches, upgrades), troubleshooting, testing, and deploying code to a repository at high quality. Researching and following Drupal best practices. Performing other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, and Experience Master's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or other related field and 4+ Years of Professional Full Stack, Back-end, or Front-end Drupal website development experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of experience. Experience using templating and styling to develop user interfaces for websites and/or web applications. Experience working with and creating automated tests, such as using Playwright, Behat, Selenium, etc. Ability to write JavaScript with and without the use of frameworks such as jQuery. Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with Drupal modules such as Views, Blocks, CKEditor, Layout Builder, Media Library, Taxonomy, Paragraphs, Search API, Webform. Ability to develop CSS with consistent styles across platforms and browsers. Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages. Experience developing web solutions in Drupal and PHP implementations in a LAMP environment. Experience developing sites to 508 compliance standards. Experience creating custom Drupal modules. Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery. Knowledge of PHP, PHP files, Twig and similar theme functions, and knowledge of the Drupal theme layer. Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs. Skills and Preferred Qualifications Website development and maintenance, and use of relevant software are required. Experience working in an Agile team environment. Experience using GitHub or similar code repositories. Experience working with U.S. government or international development. Job Summary The Resident Services Employment Specialist (ES) is responsible for designing, implementing, and driving a comprehensive employment program that connects residents to sustainable, career-building opportunities. This professional collaborates with residents and community organizations to help individuals secure and sustain meaningful employment that supports their financial, vocational, and wellness goals. Locations This position is located primarily at the resident services office of Wesley Housing's Strawbridge Square property in Alexandria, VA, but will commute and provide some support to all 6 Fairfax County properties (The Arden, Wexford Manor, Madison Ridge, Strawbridge Square, Coppermine, & The Fallstead). Essential Functions Gather information on resident skills, abilities and vocational interests Develop individual Employment Development Plans (EDP) for resident clients Assist clients in obtaining and understanding how employment affects benefits or housing Identify employment opportunities and conduct job search activities with clients Assist clients with completing job applications and creating resumes Provide individual coaching to clients to prepare for interviews and job placement Facilitate and coordinate group career coaching and/or workshops Provide follow-up support to clients to assist clients with maintaining employment Establish relationships with prospective employers in the community Provide education and support to employers Develop and maintain a Resource Directory to include state and local service providers Create reports to track and report on program efforts and outcomes. Regularly share results with Regional Community Services Manager, Marketing, and other stakeholders, to assist with program funding and operational assessments. Assess employment program; evaluate outcomes; make and implement recommendations to increase program effectiveness Comply with confidentiality requirements for records and information management Create monthly newsletters, calendar, and flyers Advocate, organize, problem-solve and provide results for families Communicate effectively with clients, volunteers, community partners, and coworkers Work independently with minimal supervision Prepare monthly activity reports Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Able to interact with sensitivity to the needs of a diverse, multicultural, linguistically diverse client population Excellent written and verbal skills Bilingual in English and Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, or another language prevalent in the community is preferred, but not required Working knowledge of supportive services and other resources in the area Attention to detail Able to advocate, organize, problem-solve and produce results Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint Demonstrated ability to comfortably navigate residential case and project management database like Apricot or Asana. Ability to troubleshoot minor technical problems with computer equipment and peripherals Excellent relationship building, networking, and interpersonal skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Effective problem-solving abilities Proactive and able to work autonomously Able to plan events, organize communities, and facilitate groups Demonstrated flexibility; able to pivot and display flexibility in response to changing circumstances or resident needs Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, Related Experience Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, or related degree required. Three years' experience in social service delivery to low and moderate-income individuals and families Minimum one to three years' experience with career assessment and coaching as well as workforce development Physical Job Requirements Able to remain stationary (standing/seated) in front of computer monitor more than half the time Able to travel between different Wesley Housing and local partner locations during the week.
