How you will create an impact
This role will focus on underwriting new and renewal business to help drive the profitable growth of our Management Liability business.
You will be responsible for assessing the desirability of risk through regular contact with brokers, close co-ordination with AIG subject matter experts and robust reviews of claims history and general company information.
Your relationships with brokers will be key to your success. You will need to provide excellent service to brokers through a consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting. You will also aim to generate new business by expanding your broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market - in line with a sales plan established with your manager.
Another key aspect of the role is the provision of accurate monthly management information including submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.

How you will create an impact
The Executive Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting the Workers' Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability primary Casualty product lines and typically manages accounts/clients that are most complex.
* Develops and manages underwriting strategies for both renewals and prospects within his/her portfolio of accounts.
* This includes knowledge of the current market penetration of AIGRM products and the development of specific plans to increase portfolio share.

* Makes independent sales calls to market and cross-market products.

* Collaborate with broker to understand the deal structure, terms, and AIG Services that best meets clients' needs.
* May review, evaluate and make recommendations to underwriting guidelines.
* May direct or conduct internal underwriting audits. Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients. Participate in special underwriting projects as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
* 5+ years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency, or Brokerage experience.
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
* Advanced working knowledge of US Casualty lines of business (Workers' Compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability) including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks etc.

As a key member of the service team, provide coverage for a FA/PWA/team including:

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Review and analyze Endorsement requests, escalate issues as required, process endorsements

**Compensation Overview**
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

**What Is the Opportunity?**
Commercial Accounts offers a wide array of guaranteed-cost products to mid-size businesses. Total account solutions include General Liability, Property, Automobile, Workers' Compensation, and Lead Umbrella. The Account Executive (AE), Commercial Accounts will partner with agents and brokers to provide property, general liability, commercial auto, and/or workers' compensation coverage for new and renewal business based on customers' needs. As an AE, you are decisive, detail-oriented, and know how to build relationships internally and externally to drive results. Your ability to assess risk and sell our products will contribute to the profitability and success of Travelers.
**What Will You Do?**
+ Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
+ Underwrite and skillfully negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
+ Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across the enterprise to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
+ Foster and maintain relationships with external partners by regularly meeting in person with agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with our risk appetite. Must be able to travel to such meetings.
+ Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
+ Develop and execute agency sales plans. Execute region/group sales plans.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?**
+ Bachelor's degree.
+ Three to five years of relevant underwriting experience with experience in commercial lines.
+ Knowledge of commercial lines products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
+ Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and analyze available information to make timely decisions in alignment with our risk appetite.
+ Communication skills with the ability to successfully negotiate with agents and brokers.
+ CPCU designation.
**What is a Must Have?**
+ Two years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience.
