About the role The Claim Governance and Control lead will be responsible for the on-going execution of the Global Claim Governance and Control Framework, supporting the Global Authorities, Global Claim Handling Policies, US based adjuster licensing process and leading efforts on various Global Claim initiatives. You will have oversight of Claims Compliance activities across the Globe, acting as the primary liaison between Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Internal Audit Group (IAG), Compliance, External Auditors and the Claims organization. How you will create an impact Drive a strong control framework working in close collaboration with the Technical Business lines, Operations and Claim Legal. Align and strengthen controls for AIG Claims to ensure consistency and effective best practices designed to mitigate claim handling and operational risk. In collaboration with Key Stakeholders and business partners, develop and maintain Global Claim policies, standards, and controls ensuring Claims personnel have knowledge and receive training around AIG policies, standards, and controls. Manage and coordinate bi-annual and annual reviews of Global Claims Authorities, Major Loss Issuance Thresholds, and all other Claims controls. In partnership with Key Stakeholders and project leaders, develop Claim Governance framework/guardrails as required to adequately address risk arising from changes in technology or process. Monitor existing Claims operational control structure and ensure necessary changes to controls are made based upon audit feedback (self-audits, internal audits, PwC audits). Drive continuous improvement and development of Global Claim Control library/depository. Coordinate with various functions on business improvement programs and key remediation activities to include the monitoring and reporting of internal audit action plan status and risk event notices and analysis. Facilitate bi-monthly meeting with Claim Legal to discuss on going claim initiatives with focus on Global Authorities. Maintain project documentation including call notes, action items, etc. Lead program/project after-action reviews to gather post-implementation feedback and help develop continuous improvement programs/projects. Manage the Letter of Authority process. Deliver effective LOA review and reconciliation process to ensure LOA's accurately reflect the system authority. Effectively deliver improvement initiatives and projects on behalf of Claim Governance, leading projects independently and working closely with key stakeholders in delivering project plans. Foster working relationships with regulatory bodies and with AIG business groups in furtherance of AIG Compliance efforts. Ensure appropriate support is provided to Legal, Vendor Services, Quality Assurance, and other support groups. Support ongoing Claims strategic initiatives through programs that foster an environment of continuous improvement. Represent Claims in enterprise forums and projects to ensure global operating excellence and enhanced internal collaboration. What you'll need to succeed Proven claims experience of 7+ years handling and/or managing claims with a commercial or personal line insurance carrier. Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to influence change. A claims technical and operational background that will enable you to understand the improvement opportunities identified irrespective of the line of business and be credible with key claims stakeholders & managers. Ability to analyze information and data to identify underlying trends or issues and develop appropriate solutions. Proficiency in manipulating and interpreting MS Excel spreadsheets. Knowledge of key regulatory and legal requirements relevant to commercial or personal line claims is a plus. Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior managers across claims. Excellent written communication skills with ability to create consistently factual, correct, high quality reports, meeting notes and supporting documentation.     We are currently seeking candidates for a Risk Engineer, Property & Casualty with experience in the insurance, loss control, and/or safety industry. This person will be supporting our Rochester, NY underwriting operations, but can be based anywhere between Albany and Buffalo. The Risk Engineer professional operates within the Risk Consulting division and is considered an integral component of our value-added services for commercial insurance policyholders. The position will report to the Regional Risk Consulting Manager and directly support our New York State territory. Regular travel is sometimes required throughout the region as business needs warrant. The position requires overnight travel, approximately 2 nights per month. Outside of local and regional client engagement travel, this is a "work from home" position. The primary focus of this position is to provide an understanding of a client's operations to our underwriting team; counsel clients on best practices related to their existing operations and programs (employee safety, fleet, facility maintenance, business continuity, product safety, etc.); assist clients with identifying hazards within their facilities and, as appropriate, provide recommendations for improved practices; discuss and provide Chubb's risk consulting services to meet client needs and/or improve the accounts loss history (i.e. business continuity planning, employee safety training, safety committee support, product safety review and evaluate building fire protection systems). On-site visits with existing and prospective customers will be conducted, and comprehensive reports will be completed that evaluate hazards and controls for adequate risk selection, pricing, and application of underwriting techniques that will lead to profitable growth. Day-to-day activities will include scheduling client visits, processing client correspondence and inquiries, completing reports and following up on recommendations, and coordinating with claims and underwriting partners to ensure we exceed service expectations and consistently support satisfactory risk selection and client retention. Five years or more of experience in property, casualty, and workers' compensation insurance risk management and loss prevention functions, focusing on evaluating hazards and controls Proficiency in hazard identification skills, emphasizing Property, General Liability, Products, & Workers' Compensation coverages Counseling and providing presentations to existing customers on a variety of safety-related topics Comprehensive understanding of existing exposures and safety controls for the following lines of business: property, business interruption, product liability, workers' compensation, and commercial auto. Knowledge of fire protection and industrial hygiene is desirable Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Proficient interviewing techniques and technical report writing ability Initiative, effective time management, and ability to function both independently and collaboratively as an integral team member Proficiency in Microsoft Suites to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Prior experience in Casualty lines including GL, Products and WC is desirable.
