In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and servicing an existing renewal book along with assistance to other team members. This role includes constant interaction with our brokerage community ensuring our renewals are being serviced properly and out soliciting new business opportunities. Through this role, underwriters gain experience in a wide variety of coverages, client industries and specializations. How you will create an impact This role analyzes and evaluates risk and accepts, rejects, or modifies risk and coverage conditions within limits of delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting guidelines to achieve underwriting profitability objectives. Under limited direction, underwrites complex standard and non-standard products, new and renewals. Determines how pricing should be modified based on loss experience and is able to evaluate complex exposures. The role will be responsible for underwriting the Workers' Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability primary Casualty product lines. Communicate risk appetite and AIGRM Value Proposition to brokers. Evaluates risk and gives approval or declination for quotes. Reviews new distribution opportunities, identifies new business relationships, manages pipeline of opportunities and collaborates with region to ensure new opportunities are explored and pursued. Reviews the more difficult accounts and ensures that they are issued accurately and in a timely fashion. Assists in the training and development of Associate Underwriters and Underwriting Analysts while providing mentorship. Has the knowledge and ability to explain the rationale behind the underwriting decisions made on an account. Generates new business and provides underwriting guidance and appropriate rates for alternate plans at time of renewal. Makes independent sales calls to market and cross-market products. Refers declined business to other AIG divisions, as appropriate. Identifies cross-selling opportunities. Travels to broker/client meetings to serve as the AIGRM product expert and to identify cross selling opportunities. Perform special requests for clients, which may include task such as business plan changes, or analyzing new agreements. What you'll need to succeed 1+ years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships. Working knowledge of US Casualty lines of business (Workers' Compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability) including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks etc. Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience. Very strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated and results-oriented. Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.     Chubb is seeking a Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter to join its Small & Lower Midmarket (“SLM”) Construction Industry Practice, which targets accounts up to $50M revenues. This is a field production underwriting role dedication to new revenue growth of multiline construction accounts for their assigned territory. The role will report directly to the Construction Lower Midmarket Leader or Construction Team Lead and matrix into local regional office. The individual is accountable for reviewing, triaging, underwriting, and quoting submissions and securing binds to achieve his/her individual production goal while adhering to Chubb standards of underwriting and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong underwriting skills, exceptional communication abilities, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to build and maintain impactful relationships.
