Repair, maintain, and install all plumbing in City owned and operated buildings.
Perform preventative maintenance and regular inspections of these systems to ensure maximum efficiency.
Keeps complete records on all major equipment service requirements and replacement records.
Replenishes supplies when necessary to maintain adequate inventory.
Responds to emergency situations.
Maintains equipment and materials used in daily work activities.
Work with other crafts and the general public.
Responsible for keeping vehicle clean and being punctual.
Apply for and pull plumbing permits for all jobs associated.
Responsible for finalizing all plumbing projects.
Supports the departmental operations with regular and timely attendance.
Supports the relationship between the City of Odessa and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High school diploma or GED required AND Five (5) years' experience in installation and maintenance of plumbing required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and write in English all applicable blue prints, schematics, diagrams, signs, labels, directions, reports, equipment manuals etc.
Ability to communicate ideas, instructions, questions, problems etc.
Skills in the use of all standard plumbing tools and equipment.
Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work.
License and certification requirements: A valid Texas State Driver's License and a Texas State Journeyman Plumber license is required. Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of FBI criminal background fingerprint check in accordance with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) standards.
Safety Requirement: Position requires that City approved safety shoes be worn.
