You will be processing blood products after the units have been received from the donors. This will involve scanning in the units of blood, processing the units into transfusable components (red cells, platelets, and expressing plasma) and leukoreducing. May require flexibility to work a variable schedule that includes weekends & holidays to meet the needs of our hospitals Standard Schedule: 3 pm-11:30 pm Tuesday - Saturday Pay Information: $19.50 - $20 an hour DOE WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: High School or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred. Good computer skills, ability to use a wide variety of programs and laboratory equipment, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills. Good communication skills, with the ability to work on a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision Physical Requirements : Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods. Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds. May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time. This role ensures the safe execution of programs and promotes knowledge-sharing both internally and externally. You'll lead patient services, guide medical communications, and help shape medical policies and procedures. This position also supports and mentors volunteers who contribute to our mission. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD: * Provide medical consultation in transfusion medicine, blood banking, and patient services to hospital clients, fostering strong and collaborative relationships. * Deliver continuing medical education to internal and external audiences, promoting safe and effective use of blood components. * Lead patient service programs such as therapeutic apheresis, stem cell collection and processing, perioperative autologous cell salvage, and patient blood management. * Oversee medical aspects of regulated blood center operations including donor management, recipient adverse reactions, and product investigations. * Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to donor eligibility, component quality, and transfusion practices. * Serve as CLIA Laboratory Director for regulated collection activities and laboratories including immunohematology, HLA, stem cell, and national testing labs. * Investigate donor and recipient concerns, transfusion-related issues, and customer service complaints, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate leadership notification. * Support, mentor, and guide volunteers to enhance their contributions and professional development. This role is Hybrid with preferred residence in greater Nashville, TN or St Louis, MO; Travel: 30-50% Ability to travel within Region. This position is eligible for relocation. Manage volunteer intake and ensure that all candidates complete an application, are compliant with Army policies, and are placed in a role that aligns with their skills and interests. Manage a year-round strategy for recruiting groups of volunteers from corporations and community groups and share best practices, including training and templated materials, with the field. Meet or exceed established Bell Ringing Campaign volunteer hours and goals. Work with staff and committees to determine, organize, fill and manage all volunteer needs for various events throughout the year. Develop and implement volunteer recruitment, screening, training, placement, integration, and compliance plans to ensure volunteers are prepared and equipped to successfully complete assignments. Communicate consistently and effectively with all volunteers to foster relationships. Provide thorough instructions and ensure all volunteers are acknowledged in a timely manner. Monitor and maintain accuracy of all volunteer database records to provide timely and trustworthy reports as needed and requested. Maintain confidentiality and comply with Territorial Headquarters (THQ) volunteer policies, Safe From Harm training and background screenings, ensuring compliance for every volunteer. Maintain inventory of all bell ringing equipment (signage, aprons, bells, etc.). Connect with community organizations to ensure The Salvation Army has a consistent presence and can work across teams and organizations to maintain a strong volunteer base/groups. Create opportunities for volunteer recognition and appreciation. Be present at events outside of and in addition to “normal work hours” that require volunteer recruitment, management and coordination. Examples include National Night Out, Red Kettle Kickoff, National Commander's Challenge and any events with the goal of recruiting or oversight of volunteers. Serve as staff liaison to service-focused affinity groups within The Army, such as Echelon, our young professionals group. Mobilize Boards and Volunteer Leaders for Philanthropic Impact Act as the fundraising subject matter expert and as the primary liaison between the development team and Regional Board Philanthropy Committees supporting Chapter Boards in fulfilling their fundraising responsibilities. Equip board members and volunteer leaders with the tools, coaching, and confidence needed to serve as effective ambassadors and fundraisers. Support orientation and ongoing engagement of new board members with a clear focus on philanthropic leadership. Build, Develop, and Inspire a High Performing Team Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Regional Development team, including the individual Director of Development, Corporate Regional Philanthropy Officers, Grant Writers, and other fundraising staff. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and performance driven team culture focused on professional growth, accountability, and shared success. Guide strategic decision making and ensure alignment across the Development function. Ensure Excellence in Systems, Stewardship, and Reporting Oversee disciplined donor management practices, ensuring all fundraising activity and gifts are accurately and timely recorded in Salesforce. Hold accountability for monthly and annual forecasting of expected gifts. Maintain compliance with all reporting and relationship management requirements while using data and insights to inform strategy, improve performance, and strengthen donor relationships. Serve as a Key Member of the Regional Leadership Team Operate as a trusted senior leader within the Region, contributing to enterprise wide strategy, decision making, and organizational leadership.
