1923

* In 1923, the ARRT moved from Omaha to St Paul, Minn., where it is located today.

1929

1929 Organization begins publishing The X-Ray Technician.

1932

By 1932, when the association changed its name to the American Society of X-Ray Technicians, membership had reached nearly 400.

1936

The Registry was incorporated in 1936 as the American Registry of X-Ray Technicians.

1946

In 1946, the ASXT established its offices in the basement of Mrs.

1952

The 1952 curriculum was the first of many that the society would publish over the years as it consistently pushed for uniform educational standards for radiologic technologists.

1963

* The ARRT eligibility requirements for nuclear medicine technology were published in the May 1963, issue of The X-ray Technician, a journal published by the ARRT at the time.

1964

In 1964, the association changed its name from the American Society of X-Ray Technicians to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.

1968

The ASRT continued to grow, and by 1968 membership had reached 14,000.

1975

1975 ASRT launches voluntary continuing education program for R.T.s.

1986

To better represent all its members, the ASRT in 1986 created a new legislative and governing body, the House of Delegates.

1995

In recent activities, technologists became part of the ARRT’s history when they participated in the mandatory phase of the ARRT’s continuing education requirements, which were instituted on January 1, 1995.

By 1995, 33 states had enacted licensure laws for radiographers, 28 licensed radiation therapists and 21 licensed nuclear medicine technologists.

1999

The ASRT's efforts were recognized in 1999 when it received a Piñon Award from Quality New Mexico.

2004

2004 ASRT completes a major renovation of its office in Albuquerque, N.M., that more than doubles the size of the facility.

2014

In 2014, the ASRT shifted its effort to establish educational and certification standards from the federal level to the state level.

2015

2015 The ASRT Museum and Archives opens.
