Primary Objectives: The Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for supporting and executing the maintenance strategy across multiple communities within a designated region. Essential Functions: Analyzes the workload of the maintenance division and schedules activities; works with supervisors to establish priorities in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and cleaning of transit vehicles. Reviews the previous day's road calls to ensure proper repairs, in addition to reviewing the 30-day history ensuring proper repairs. Analyzes and maintains a wide variety of computerized and paper records, including road call statistics and reasons; breakdown reports by specific manufacturer and equipment type; fuel, oil, and lubricant consumption; vehicle repairs; accumulated engine mileage; tire life, and overhaul status. Maintains a variety of computerized records and prepares reports of work performed, materials used, fuel usage, daily reports, and work orders. Identifies breakdown trends and fleet defects. Makes decisions regarding vehicle safety; consults with Training, the Manager(s) of Maintenance, and the Safety Officer(s) for guidance as necessary. Maintains the shop and work area in a safe, organized, and clean manner and ensures the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas. Instructs/demonstrates the proper and safe use of tools and diagnostic equipment. Ensures all maintenance personnel are adhering to all maintenance work rules, organizational policies, and organizational safety rules and regulations. Advises Manager of Maintenance of equipment, tools, and material needs within the department.
