I love working with my customers (I do Product Support, solving problems. The most complex issues for our customer base.) and I love working with my coworkers when they get stumped trying to engineer a new way of tackling a business problem. It's a blast bringing a huge bank of knowledge to bear to create solutions where they allude others. -- I'm afraid of nothing, so its so much fun.
Our management thinks all workers are interchangeable, and does not value loyalty, and have proven it by firing people who have given blood, sweat, and tears for the success of our customers and company, as redundant, where it is not the case. And they've left big gaps in knowledge that others then have to work doubly hard to even come close to providing what used to be attainable with our original staff.
Latitude to do what I know is right with balance between customer success and cost.
