Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Holding unit float position with PCU experience and team nursing responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Work in the ER Holding unit of a hospital with an acuity-adaptable care model
Patient population ranges from medical-surgical (MS) to PCU/stepdown and ICU-level care
Unit typically consists of 4 beds but may increase up to 8-10 beds depending on need
Staffing ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on patient acuity and census
Team nursing model with RN paired with LPN or CNA depending on acuity and ratios
Boarding unit with patients admitted from ED held until discharge or transfer
Float required to inpatient PCU unit and potentially to affiliate hospitals as needed
Night shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
Every other weekend work required
No on-call required
EMR system used is Cerner and experience is required
Primary responsibility is caring for stable patients held in the boarding unit until discharge or transfer
Must be flexible and comfortable with floating to other units as needed
Candidates must work 2 out of the 3 major holidays during the contract
Up to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approved
First-time travelers are accepted
Collaborate closely with other RNs and LPNs/CNAs as part of a team nursing approach
Requirements
Active IN or Compact RN license required prior to start
Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 18 months in a relevant setting
PCU experience required
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or RQI accepted
Must be comfortable with team nursing and delegating to LPNs and CNAs
Degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
Cerner charting experience required
Former permanent or PRN employees must be away for at least 12 months prior to consideration
Local candidates not accepted for ER positions

Responsibilities
Work in a short-term acute care hospital on an adult/geriatric Med/Surg unit
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as thoracentesis, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CVA, hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, weakness, hypertension, small bowel obstruction, altered mental status, and renal failure
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6

Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with telemetry and neuro experience, IN or compact RN license required.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
Patient population includes CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, TBIs, trauma and large wound cases, and GI surgeries
Typical staffing ratios are 1:3-4, with 5 only during emergencies
Proficient telemetry and neuro care required, including management of drips
May be assigned as charge nurse based on operational needs, with training provided
Must be flexible to work days (3x12 hour shifts, 7:00-19:30) and 50% of weekends during the contract
Floating may be required to Med-Surg, ICU, or affiliate hospitals within the system
Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
May be required to precept or have students shadow on assignment
Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned with training and support
Must be willing to float with resources provided
Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
RTO of up to 5 days may be auto-approved
Call-ins for contracted shifts must be made up per contract requirements
Requirements
Active IN or Compact RN license in hand
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA or RQI accepted)
Minimum 18 months - 2 years of recent PCU experience required
Proficient in telemetry, neuro care, and management of drips
Experience with conscious sedation and Level 1 trauma preferred
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
First-time travelers are accepted
Not accepting local candidates for PCU positions
Must not have been a perm or PRN employee at the health system within the past 12 months
