This request is to replace personnel on an existing position within the shared resource that is fully budgeted within the MSR budget for FY 25 and FY 26. Specifically, the candidate will provide bioinformatics support for the analytical design, analysis and interpretation for an array of metabolomics studies including molecular profiling, multiple reaction monitoring based targeted quantitation. The candidate will also assist in developing pipeline for metabolic model development, modelling, stoichiometric analysis of metabolic flux. Successful candidate will design experiments in collaboration with wet-lab scientists and integrate experimental data including transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics (including stable isotope based in vitro and in vivo metabolomics) and mass spectrometry-based profiling. MSR is a highly productive and revenue generating shared resource; as such this position is critical for maintaining productivity levels and coping with the workload. The candidate will lead big data analysis capabilities for multiple federally funded projects that are supported by the metabolomics shared resource. As explained in the justification document, based on addition of new instruments including Bruker tims TOF, 7500 QTrap mass spectrometer, NMR and Seahorse XF96 cellular analyzer and the urgent and critical need to strengthen the informatics and data analysis capabilities of the core facility, we have expanded and added new set of duties to the revised job description. Taken together, these additions warrant a revision of an obsolete pay scale to make us minimally competitive for hiring qualified and competent candidates. All Peer Educators will develop workshop content and facilitate peer-to-peer programs that cultivate self-reflection on multiple identity-based personal experiences, societal and structural issues, and systemic impact. The Center for Diversity & Inclusion is looking for a collaborative team player interested in enhancing the experience of all students, understanding the campus climate, and partnering intentionally with campus partners and administrative offices to tell stories and share experiences through video media. The CDI Peer Educator is supervised by the Associate Director for Education & Support Programs & The Assistant Director for LGBTQIA+ Programs & Support. The Center for Diversity & Inclusion promotes a diverse, respectful, and inclusive learning, living, and working environment for the university community. The Center for Diversity & Inclusion promotes the personal growth of students by providing specialized university-wide educational programs and training, Intergroup Dialogues, as well as support for First-Generation, LGBTQIA+, District Scholars, and the Summer Transition Enrichment Program (STEP) cohort. Essential Functions: * Co-facilitate and design, with a fellow peer educator. * Support program implementation operations by: (1) organizing virtual meeting spaces/platforms for programs, (2) promoting program logistics on Engage and via email, and (3) developing registration processes. * Develop content for at least one 2024-2025 program. * Research cutting-edge resources such as blogs, video clips, activities, and current events etc. to utilize in workshops/programs with Graduate Coordinator of Dialogue and Support Programs & Graduate Coordinator of LGBTQIA+ Education and Support Programs. * Weekly supervisory group meetings with fellow peer educators or small group planning meetings to brainstorm and explore needs. * Administer pre and post-assessments to determine student needs and program topics. * Work with student staff to develop and implement program marketing and registration processes. * Provide administrative support during Center programs to admit participants, track attendance, etc. * Research, benchmark, and assess CDI and other campuses' educational, support programs, & media efforts. * Peer Educators will undergo regularly scheduled mandatory CDI training(s) throughout the academic year (trainings conducted primarily in the evenings and weekends). * Other duties as assigned. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: * Student. * Part-time. * Federal Work-Study. * 5-7 hours/week. * You will be asked to be available during evenings and weekends for some programming. * For the academic year 2025-2026. * Non-Exempt. Salary Range: * $17.50/hour Required Education & Experience: * The Peer Educators must be current AU enrolled students at full-time status under Federal Work Study. * Additionally, they must have a base knowledge and understanding of facilitation, dialogue and training development as it relates to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). Preferred Qualifications: * Students with exceptional dialogue experience. * Experience developing curriculum for programs, workshops, dialogues, etc. on a variety of social and identity-based issues. * Strong facilitation skills and experience with the ability to navigate group dynamics. * Demonstrated knowledge of multi-layered aspects of identity, and intersectionality, including ability, nationality, religious belief and practice, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, racial identity and ethnicity, etc. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to inclusive language. * Works well with other students, staff, and faculty on collaborative projects. * Ability to provide program recommendations based on students' needs. * Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple priorities. * Critical thinker and innovative problem solver. * Ability to work under minimal supervision and take initiative. * Flexibility and creativity.
