Primary Role
As part of the AW2030 program, the Data Operations Lead is accountable for supporting the design, build, and operations of the enterprise data platform ecosystem that underpins American Water's evolving data strategy. This role oversees the availability, reliability, scalability, and security of foundational data platforms (e.g., data pipelines, data lake, data warehouse, data quality management, analytics environments, integration platforms, and associated tools). The Data Operations Lead works closely with IT, business stakeholders, and data governance teams to establish platform standards, modernize legacy environments, migrate legacy data, and enable consistent access to high-quality, trusted data across the enterprise.

Primary Role
Provide treasury management with objective financial analyses and recommendations regarding capital structure, and corporate and subsidiary financing strategies.
Responsible for supporting all financing activity (short- and long-term debt and equity) for the organization.
Support State Finance teams with regulatory documentation; data request response and maintain data request inflow and outflow.
Support compliance requirements and filings.
Key Accountabilities
Take active role in debt and equity issuances. This will include but is not limited to the process of issuing taxable and tax-exempt debt, preparing applications, petitions, tracking debt rates and comparable debt deals, tracking debt issuance fees, calculating all-in costs for senior management analysis, preparation of various certificates, review of debt legal documents, setup of debt subledgers, sub-lending of debt to subsidiaries.
Provide analytical support for Annual Budget process as well as period ‘Refreshes'.
Run various reports out of Hyperion to support business planning process, prepare and maintain schedules of planned debt/equity.
Support all Treasury Accounting and Financial Reporting functions. Prepare and provide monthly, quarterly and annual Treasury Analysis and report to Treasury Management.
Provide information for disclosure in various SEC and regulatory filings.
Support 10Q and 10K debt reporting.
Ensure compliance with AW SOX controls and other company policies, practices and strategies.
Prepare documentation as needed for Audit purposes.
Update existing procedures and document new procedures to communicate company-wide.
Partner with finance and regulatory to prepare capital structures for all subsidiaries as needed basis to analyze debt/equity needs, prepare internal financing proposals.
Prepare and analyze the need for equity infusions, credit limit adjustments, and new long-term debt.
Compile and maintain documentation related to each debt financing, ensure all debt issuance fees are processed via Cash Management.
Compile and prepare necessary information to complete quarterly debt covenant compliance calculations, analysis and obtain treasury management sign-off for all debt across the regulated AW System. Oversee the distribution of all quarterly and annual financial statements prepare and obtain management sign-off on all Officer's Certificates and supporting schedules to bondholders, rating agencies and municipal authorities.
Provide support to all subsidiaries relating to rate case support, business planning and forecasting. Maintain data request log by tracking each data request received, delegating to proper department for response and consolidating responses for review.

Primary Role
To operate, control, repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery, and mechanical equipment used to process water treatment equipment using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments. Operate, clean and maintain sludge dewatering equipment. Operate the water treatment plant when needed including but not limited to vacations & illnesses both short term and long term.
Key Accountabilities
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using various electronic meters not limited to non-contact amp meters, multimeters, calibration meters, voltage detectors, and hand tools
Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand and power tools.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Lubricates and cleans parts and equipment.
May set up and operate drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make repairs or repair parts.
Acquire materials and parts for repairs to machinery to maintain orderly operation of plant and processes.
Repair, install, and perform preventive testing of electrical equipment.
Repair, install, and perform preventive testing of process control equipment.
Maintain records, drawings, and reports within area of responsibility using computerize maintenance management software.
Perform treatment plant operator duties including sampling, testing, adjusting chemical feeds needed for plant operation.
Accurately perform distribution system sampling and testing.
Operate and maintain sludge dewatering equipment.

Compensation Data
The Pay Range for this position is $128,540 - $204,860 per year.
The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. Primary Role
The Director, Engineering Design is responsible for directing the multi-discipline design of complex drinking water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects across the enterprise and directly supervises a staff of engineering design professionals that are responsible for the following primary functions:
Preparing engineering calculations, contract drawings, and technical specifications suitable for contractor bidding and construction of renovations, upgrades, replacement, or addition of drinking water production/treatment or wastewater treatment and/or conveyance facilities owned by American Water subsidiaries.
Identifying all local, state, and federal permits required for construction, and completing or overseeing subcontracted third-party execution of all reports, studies, public meetings, applications, and other activities required to obtain all necessary permit approvals for in-house design projects.
Providing engineering services during construction, including review of submittals, responding to contractor RFIs, and support during commissioning of production, treatment, or conveyance facility assets.

Key Acountabilites
Provide direct supervision of engineering team staff from multiple engineering disciplines, including, but not necessarily limited to, civil/site design, hydrogeology, structural design, mechanical engineering, and computer-aided drafting technicians.
Provide consultancy and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) during engineering design performed by third-party engineering consultants, and provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operation of capital investment projects addressing both complex and routine drinking water supply, treatment, storage, pumping, and buried infrastructure conveyance facilities across the American Water System.
Identify the need for and lead development of technical standards, including standard specifications and details, related to design of drinking water supply and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance systems, to maximize the performance, reliability, efficiency, and value of engineered water resource assets across the enterprise.
Support the development of expanded in-house engineering capacity and capabilities focused on routine design (e.g. pipeline design) and construction-phase service activities. Works with the state operating companies to integrate resources into their design and project delivery teams to improve capital efficiency
Direct internal engineering design activities in conformance with sound technical and engineering management principles.
Develop and participate in projects which reduce costs and improve the level of service provided, and proactively explores, evaluates and implements the integration of new technology and/or methods in order to enhance utility operations.
Serve as a primary technical subject matter expert for Company engineering staff on internal and external execution of engineering design services.
Manage an in-house design engineering team. Recognize the abilities of staff and coach and counsel individuals through an effective Performance Appraisal and Development Program to ensure continued professional development.
Lead and oversee development of Engineering Standards, specifications, and equipment manufacturer recommendations to support initiatives established in conjunction with the Engineering Leads.
Develop and maintain strategic and strong working relationships with engineering firms, materials and equipment vendors, and contractors.
Participate in special assignments including professional conferences, regulatory workshops, business development, rate case testimony, technology research and other matters of strategic interest to the Company.

The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. The expected pay range for this position is between $18.00 per hour and $28.00 per hour. Primary Role

Experience/Education
Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering or equivalent preferred.
May be substituted with other certifications and direct experience in the water/wastewater industry.
Certifications in water and/or wastewater operations and/or registration as a Professional Engineer preferred.
Total of 10 - 12 years of related work experience.
5 years plus experience in environmental compliance, water and/or wastewater operations, project management, and technology system implementation.is required.
5 years plus specific experience and knowledge of environmental compliance program management, ideally in the waste and/or wastewater industry.
Travel Requirements
Periodic travel in the US up to 50%.
Certifications & Licenses
Certifications in water and/or wastewater operations and/or registration as a Professional Engineer preferred
A valid state driver's license with the ability to pass a motor vehicle report
Work Environment
Office environment with occasional field work.
This position reports onto a military installation. In addition to American Water's pre-employment screenings, this position requires the ability to pass a Department of Defense background check for access to the military installation.
