Washington Gas is currently hiring for a Plant Maintenance Technician I to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our energy infrastructure running smoothly. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians and supervisors, you'll assist with the maintenance and operation of peak shaving plants, gas conditioning facilities, gate stations, and pressure regulating equipment.
What You'll Do:
• May work shift work to fill in for shift vacancies. May be on call for emergency response.
• Assist in maintenance, upkeep and safe operation of plant machinery and equipment including, but not limited to the following:
High- and low-pressure gas compressors plus all related pumps, air compressors, pumps, regulators, etc.
Process air compressors, plus all related pumps, air compressors, regulators, pumps, regulators, etc.
High- and low-pressure steam systems.
High- and low-pressure natural gas systems.
Hexane injection system.
Natural gas and/or liquid propane storage systems and all associated equipment.
Propane systems to include product quality testing, storage, transfer pumps, metering, separators, propane strippers, safety shutdown systems, vaporizers, unloading hoses and spuds, refrigeration systems, etc.
A variety of other plant equipment including process heaters, hydraulic pumps, pressure regulators, relief valves, safety shutdown systems (to include SCADA), fire protection systems, electric motors, electric generators, grounds maintenance equipment, blowers, fans, etc.
• Troubleshoot machinery and equipment during plant operating and non-operating periods.
• Perform work in confined spaces (including internal boiler inspection).
• Assist and operate non-plant GSO facilities including but not limited to gate stations and regulator stations.
• Read drawings, schematics and maps.
• Operate and maintain valves as needed.
• Responsible for getting equipment back in operation in the event of a failure under adverse working conditions and in limited time.
• Makes repairs to equipment including replacing rings, pistons, bearings, grinding valves, etc.
• Maintain records of work performed and parts replaced on plant machinery and equipment.
• Prepare list and stock replacement parts and materials for machinery and equipment maintenance.
• Perform maintenance, as required at other GSO facilities, including Gate Stations.
• Read and interpret drawings (construction, P&I, flow sheets, etc.).
• Work with Engineering on various projects, such as annual pump capacity testing, capital projects, major maintenance projects, etc.
• Conduct regular tests of fire equipment, such as, but not limited to, hoses, fire hydrants, monitors, pumps, etc.
• Responsible for keeping all tools, at assigned facility, in good working and safe condition to meet industry standards.
• Perform building and facility maintenance work such as glazing, painting (of all types), plumbing, pipe fitting, tubing, conduit, concrete, fence repairs, digging, snow removal, painting, grass cutting and trimming etc.
• Perform maintenance on control and safety systems on all machinery, boilers, and other plant equipment.
• Clean, inspect and repair process compressor valves, cylinder heads, pistons, liners etc. under the direction of a higher graded employee.
• Operate, maintain and repair various power operated equipment
• Responsible for the accurate completion of daily electronic work orders.
• Responsible for the accurate completion of weekly electronic time sheet.
• Responsible for entering electronic information into various computer applications.
In addition to the activities described above:
May be assigned to related business support and administrative activities (ex. backend meter processing, backend corrosion processing, backend leak/damager prevention processing, peer safety observations, vehicle clean-out, cross functional training activities, etc.)

What You Have/What You Need:
• High School Diploma/GED. Formal technical training preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 18 months of related technical experience, such as with heavy equipment, manufacturing equipment, pumps, compressors, automotive, marine mechanics, small engine repair, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Technical certifications such as journeyman or master plumber, HVAC certification, ASE, etc. a plus.
• Must acquire Maryland 4th grade Stationary Engineering License within 18 months of hire.
• CDL HOLDERS ARE SUBJECT TO TESTING UNDER FEDERAL HIGHWAY REGULATIONS.
• Must pass Criteria assessment prior to hiring.
• Must acquire Maryland 4th grade Stationary Engineering License within 18 months of hire.
• Must pass the Plant Grade 5 Plant Operator I qualification test within 24 months.
• New hires at this level must successfully complete all training and Operator Qualifications.
• Must have intermediate computer skills, such as opening and closing files, data-entry, creating and modifying spreadsheets and word documents, saving files, sending and receiving emails with attachments, etc.

Maintains storage area in a clean, orderly manner.
Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or use of hand truck.
Assists in moving furniture and equipment as required.
Makes minor repairs and replaces electric bulbs and tubes as needed.
Renovate and paints designated areas as assigned.
Reports damage to equipment and other agency purchases to Supervisor as noticed.
Responsible for insuring all area assigned are properly locked and/or closed.
Responsible for advising Supervisor of any violations of security procedures.
Works with craftsman staff at CRT locations when necessary.
Works Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as needed.
Open & close sites as assigned.
Signing CRT vehicles "in and out" as needed to service and complete work orders at Agency sites as assigned.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The purpose of this position is to support the Agency's needs by maintaining all designated area in a clean and orderly condition and performs minor repairs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Cleans windows and shampoos carpets periodically.
Removes all trash/garbage and places it in designated containers for disposal.
Removes litter from grounds / playgrounds on a daily basis
Removes snow and ice from walkways and applies sand when necessary.
Maintains storage area in a clean, orderly manner.
Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or use of hand truck.
Assists in moving furniture and equipment as required.
Makes minor repairs and replaces electric bulbs and tubes as needed.
Renovate and paints designated areas as assigned.
Reports damage to equipment and other agency purchases to Supervisor as noticed.
Responsible for insuring all area assigned are properly locked and/or closed.
Responsible for advising Supervisor of any violations of security procedures.
Works with craftsman staff at CRT locations when necessary.
Works Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as needed.
Open & close sites as assigned.
Signing CRT vehicles "in and out" as needed to service and complete work orders at Agency sites as assigned.
Safeguard vehicles, tools and other CRT properties at all times.
Completes assigned work orders daily as requested.

Attend and complete all mandatory trainings
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Checks building periodically for fire hazards.
Remains at center for evening and weekend meetings.
Carry a company cell phone and or pager during work hours in case of a department emergency.
On call 24 hours a day in case there is an emergency.
Performs other related duties as needed.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High school diploma required.
Minimum Years of Experience: two (2) years of experience in the janitorial care and/or maintenance required.
Demonstrate skills in: following oral and written instructions, perform moderately heavy manual work and establish and maintain an effective working relationship with peers and public.
Knowledge of: equipment, materials and methods used in building maintenance required.

The MaintenanceWorker plays a crucial role in supporting hurricane response efforts in Florida by maintaining and repairing facilities, equipment, and infrastructure at designated sites. The MaintenanceWorker will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of essential services and support the needs of affected areas and response personnel
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform generalmaintenance and repair tasks on facilities, including shelters, offices, and other assigned areas.
Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and repairing fixtures.
Repair and maintain electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs, repairing outlets, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
Repair and maintain HVAC systems, including cleaning filters, inspecting components, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
Perform carpentry work, such as repairing doors, windows, walls, and other structural elements.
Assemble and disassemble furniture, equipment, and temporary structures.
Perform painting, patching, and other cosmetic repairs to maintain a clean and presentable environment.
Maintain and repair equipment, including generators, pumps, and other machinery, ensuring they are in safe and working condition.
Perform grounds maintenance tasks, such as clearing debris, removing fallen branches, and ensuring safe access to facilities.
Respond to maintenance requests and address issues promptly and effectively.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
Must possess prior experience as a maintenanceworker.
Ability to work in various weather conditions, including potentially hazardous conditions associated with hurricane aftermath.
Forklift Operator certification preferred.
Be prepared to deploy to disaster-affected areas, often with short notice.
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements:
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. About the Role:
U.S. Pipe is seeking a Millwright to join our team. The Millwrights primary responsibility is work as part of a team to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the plant equipment in order to maximize operational efficiency in an environment of continuous training and improvement maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment.

**Job Description**
**Position Purpose:**
Provides day-to-day monitoring and basic plant and pump/booster station operations, routine lab tests and basic corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Operates equipment manually and through instrumentation panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units following process control procedures. Monitors and observes operating conditions, records observations and data in shift log. Diagnoses basic operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure.
+ Performs routine CLAIR (cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, inspection and minor repair) on machines and related equipment which may include pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, vacuum filters and belt presses. Reports and documents results of work performed and enters into appropriate database. Promptly reports any operational problems with machines or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.
+ Collects water, wastewater, industrial waste, groundwater, sludge, residuals and/or gas samples according to schedule. Performs field tests (chemical, physical and biological) in order to pace chemical dosages for process and odor control units. Prepares chemical solutions, monitors supplies and recommends reorder.
+ Performs routine lab tests and prepares reports per procedure.
+ Performs routine instrument calibration for portable meters including, but not limited to, dissolved oxygen, pH, H2S, percent oxygen, lower explosive limit.
+ Learns to inspect and becomes proficient at mechanical troubleshooting to determine repairs needed. Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing devices. Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating condition is restored. Learns to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic equipment and instrumentation.
+ Performs manual labor including cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds as required and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies. Operates vehicles, mobile equipment and material handling equipment for operational and maintenance purposes.
+ Performs facility maintenance and repair and may replace or install light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tiles, door locks, carpet, and/or paint.
+ Learns to estimate time and material costs for various projects. May assist in other areas of facility as directed.
**Work Environment:**
+ Spends 100% of the time in operations environment.
+ Typically spends 25 - 35% of time exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather.
+ Company service vehicles are used as required.
+ Travels 1 - 2 times per year for company provided training.
+ May be required to travel up to five consecutive days.
+ May serve rotational 24 hour emergency on-call.

**Qualifications**
**Education/Experience/Background:**
+ High school or GED with the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions) and be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
+ Six months to two years of experience in a related position with experience in a similar environment preferred with ability to comprehend specifications, blueprints and manuals.
+ Experience using material handling equipment, pressure gauges and precision measuring instruments.
+ Experience using power, pneumatic, hydraulic and hand tools and shop tools such as drill press, band saw, bench grinder, torque wrench preferred.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
+ Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
+ Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude preferred, with the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles and other equipment.
+ Must have the ability to diagnose basic and routine process and mechanical problems and take remedial corrective action.
