This person must be well-organized, analytical, and highly motivated. To be successful in this role, this person must have excellent project management skills and strong Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/Programming experience. This position will also support other branches across the United States with their engineering projects.
So, what will you be doing as an Automation Electrical Engineer?
* Analyze and understand the automation needs of the industry or client
* Design, develop, and test PLC programs to meet those needs
* Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency or to adapt to new requirements
* Create and maintain detailed documentation of the PLC programs, including diagrams and flowcharts
* Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure the proper functioning of the PLC systems
* Collaborate with other team members to integrate the PLC systems with other automation systems
* Train and advise on the use and maintenance of the PLC systems
* Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent
* At least 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
* 3-5 years of PLC knowledge and background including PLC and graphic display programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, etc.)
* Knowledge of power distribution, motor control centers, switchgear
* Mechanical aptitude with AutoCAD experience
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* 30-40% overnight travel
