Your Role as a Housekeeper
We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team and ensure the cleanliness and organization of our community spaces. The Housekeeper plays an essential role in maintaining a sanitary and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
What You'll Do:
* Plan, organize, and adhere to a cleaning schedule.
* Perform cleaning assignments and ensure compliance with cleanliness and infection control standards.
* Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas.
* Report maintenance and repair needs to the supervisor.
* Manage housekeeping inventory and ensure adequate supplies.
* Assist with plant and flower care as needed.
* Prepare rooms for new residents after discharge.
* Follow safety protocols for handling hazardous chemicals and maintain proper labeling.
* Attend in-service training and staff meetings to improve service and operational efficiency.
Physical Demands:
* Standing, sitting, walking, and changing positions frequently.
* Lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs.; pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs.
* Ability to crouch, kneel, balance, stoop, and bend.
Safety Requirements:
* Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, gowns, and face protection.
* Use lumbar support when lifting heavy items.
* Wear non-slip supportive shoes.
* Follow OSHA standards for hazardous chemical handling and SDS guidelines.
* Mandatory reporting of work-related injuries within 12 hours.
* Participation in company drug testing procedures.
Work Environment:
This job operates in an indoor environment with adequate lighting and ventilation. It may include attending outdoor or public activities with residents.
Qualifications:
* Grade school education required.
* Must be at least 18 years old.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Mops and buffs floors, vacuums carpets, spot cleans, and arranges furniture and equipment back in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned resident units and public areas.
Completes daily cleaning work assignments in a timely manner. Under normal supervision, cleans each home in the appropriate time given.
Utilizes the appropriate chemicals, supplies and cleaning techniques according to procedure and manufacture's recommendations.
Completes work assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
Reports all safety hazards to the EVS Manager or Supervisor as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:
Minimum 6 months experience as an Environmental Services Aide or equivalent; experience in a health care environment preferred.
Ability to perform housekeeping duties.
Working knowledge of housekeeping equipment: buff and wax equipment, vacuum, hazardous chemicals and their safe handling
Comprehensive understanding of the English Language; must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

What you will do in this role
: When you are a patient, talking to the person who cleans your room can be the highlight of your day. As a Housekeeper you will help keep things neat and tidy. This could involve removing trash, washing windows, keeping the floors spotless or general bathroom cleaning. One day you may vacuum & sanitize rooms and the next you may be prepping a room for a new resident. Every day is different.
We do whatever is needed to support the sanitation needs of the center.
