Primary Responsibility : Assists in maintaining an accurate record of inventory. Assists in preventing and resolving inventory discrepancies. What You'll Do : ⢠Promote a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify and report on any safety concerns.
⢠Conduct regular inventory counts (i.e. cycle counts and full physical inventories). Record count results and discrepancies. Communicate count results to Management and/or the Customer as needed.
⢠Research and resolve inventory discrepancies including, but not limited to: researching customer claims, cycle count for missing product, adjust inventory quantities, print labels, handle damaged inventory, disposing of inventory.
⢠Update inventory and inventory discrepancies in the Warehouse Management System including processing adjustments.
⢠Assist with special projects, handling customer specific requests.
⢠Report on operational errors impacting inventory performance.
⢠Other inventory related duties as requested.
What Experience and Education You Need :
⢠High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one to three years' office experience or equivalent training and experience.
⢠Experienced with AS/400 and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
⢠Forklift license

The Job at a Glance
As the Inventory Control Specialist, (Internally known as Keeper of the Stockpile), you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy for all 190,000 + items we hold in stock. Determine the root cause of recurring shipment and customer issues to continuously improve efficiency
Regularly count physical inventory to resolve discrepancies and confirm accurate quantities in the inventory management system

All about the role:
The Inventory Control Specialist will be the operational owner of inventory governance, cycle count programs, root-cause analysis, and annual physical inventory events. This role is accountable for critical metrics such as Inventory Record Accuracy, Inventory Adjustments, Wall-to-Wall (Physical Inventory - PI) and Inventory Cuts, ensuring these align with organizational objectives. Success in this position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Planning, IT, Finance, Accounting, and Continuous Improvement teams, with a focus on sustainability.
What you'll do:
Lead and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Inventory Control department.
Oversee inventory accuracy across multiple warehouse locations by monitoring, analyzing, and reconciling inventory levels.
Ensure compliance with inventory control governance and standard operating procedures across all sites.
Partner with inventory teams to uphold high standards of accuracy and drive daily operational efficiency.
Conduct routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits; promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Provide strategic leadership to meet departmental goals, enhance team performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with world-class supply chain practices.
Facilitate weekly and monthly KPI reviews with site Inventory Control teams and leadership to align actions and drive measurable results.
Champion process improvement efforts focused on optimizing inventory management and achieving best-in-class performance.
Support budgeting and strategic planning by delivering accurate inventory data and actionable insights.
Develop and enhance warehouse operational processes, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, storage, and material handling.
Lead execution of the annual physical inventory process in accordance with ECS standards and audit requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum 4 years of experience in Inventory Control; multi-site preferred.
Ability to create and achieve inventory KPIs for the operations and team.
Advanced experience in the use of the Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Power user of inventory management systems.
Strong analytical skills with basic understanding of statistics and supply chain processes.
Travel is required (30%).
