Key Responsibilities:
Provides classroom and/or behind-the-wheel training to new operators are thoroughly trained. May provide other training to location personnel
Ensures Operator Development Program (ODP) is followed.
PODP - will need to be certified before conducting classroom, skills, btw, and cadeting.
Tracks attendees and maintains training documentation based on regulations and company policy.
While the focus is on driver training, employee may also have other safety program responsibilities (e.g. accident investigations, forms compliance and safety meetings)
Assists with ride checks operators as needed

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years training experience
1-3 years transportation, safety, or related experience
Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues
Computer literate with knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability of effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Good verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials, and general public
Fluent in English

Promotes new company initiatives and supports changes. Champions new changes or company initiatives within their region. Ensures all safety employees at the locations are supporting the changes or initiatives.

A Day in the Life:

What You'll Do:
Build and implement fleet safety systems and processes from the ground up, adapting quickly to evolving business needs and ambiguous challenges.

* Five (5) years of experience in varied fleet maintenance activities with at least one (1) full year of significant responsibility as a trainer or training officer is required. * Experience with the use of digital fleet maintenance technologies, charging monitoring systems and use of computers is required.
* Proficient with NFPA, OSHA and DEEP regulations to deliver safety and health training to employees.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional Safety Manager leads operations in areas of injury prevention, task assessment, safety communications, hazardous materials storage and transportation compliance, and regulatory compliance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Regional Safety Manager functions as a subject matter expert and consultant to manage highly technical HSE subject matters with site management teams, corporate HSE, external regulatory agencies, talent development, and provides strategic leadership for site-level staff to build sustainable loss improvement processes and to ensure program effectiveness. Additional responsibilities include:
* Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.
* Conducts pre-operational risk assessments on any RFP, new sites, design, propose and implement risk mitigation measures within the region.
* Manage and mentor a team of health and safety professionals within the region.
* Creates a positive partnership with Facility Leadership and serves as point of contact for safety related matters while ensuring safe work practices.
