As a current 3-year employee of americold I have a very good rapport with my upper management they are all very family oriented and support needed time off for family emergencies. The pay is good. The benefits are good.
It is either feast or famine at my location. Mandatory overtime gets kind of old but then again so does hearing hey do you want to go home early? As with any place, some of the supervisors are amazing and some well let's just say aren't.
Flexibility of my schedule.
I really don't have an opinion of George Chappelle and his leadership team as I do not deal directly with them. I do get emails from Mr Chappelle regularly about company business but that's about the extent of it.
Honestly I would say treat the supervisors better so they had a better attitude overall towards the company. Attitude flows downhill the same as motivation and overall happiness with your job. When the supervisors have negative attitudes it affects everyone below them.
I gathered together my resume and my work experience and just went in with a positive attitude.
I believe that my compensation is slightly lower than other employees in my field because when I started was right after COVID and there was so many people in the employment field that employers could hire at lower wages.
My location has a very diverse ethnic population. And from what I can see of pictures of other locations they are all very diverse and cultural diversity.
The most fulfilling aspect of my job is hearing my boss say good job, well done, thank you etc

Meeting the different people from different companies. Learning the ways of the truckers. The combinations of loading and unloading trucks.
Gaining the knowledge of the company. Working with my peers.
I studied the company. Prepared to answer questions whether about the company or personal.
Working with my peers. Learning from my ops manager. The people in the front office. The people around me are so amazing. Also loading trucks. I think I have a strong passion on loading trucks.
