Member Duties : The AmeriCorps Respite Apprentices serving at Easterseals Wisconsin Camps will provide personal care and therapeutic recreation activities that encourage healthy lifestyles for people with disabilities. Members are responsible for activity programming, encouraging campers to participate in camp activities, ensuring camper safety, and promoting and assisting with personal care. Members receive training on how to provide recreation and care for people with disabilities, Conflict Resolution, and civic participation. This summer members will serve a minimum of 900 hours while living at camp from May - August 14th, 2026. Members are provided with extensive training, room and board (housing and meals),a living stipend totaling $6,500 for the full term of service, and an Education Award upon successful completion of the full term of service

ITD currently has an opening for a Right-of-Way Apprentice. This position is located at the Headquarters office in Boise, Idaho. The Right-of-Way Section is responsible for the acquisition of all property required for highway construction, material sources, and maintenance shed sites. The section is also responsible for the oversight of all Local Public Agencies acquiring property, who utilize federal funding for highway purposes. The acquisition of Right-of-Way follows the planning and design phases of the highway development process and is one of the final phases prior to the actual award of the construction contract. This position will perform entry-level Right-of-Way activities under general supervision.
The Right-of-Way Apprentice position will be used for training purposes for the Right-of-Way Agent position. Through various types of on-the-job training, the employee will learn to carry out the duties of the full working level Right-of-Way Agent. Once employee has successfully met the requirements of the Right-of-Way Apprentice, they will advance to the Right-of-Way Appraiser classification.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Right-of-Way:
* Researches public records and other sources to obtain data.
* Prepares legal documents, contracts, agreements, exhibits, and reports.
* Reviews final title reports for land parcels, and determines legal instruments required to release property and obtain clear title.
* Verifies completeness of legal instruments, exhibits, plans, and papers for land acquisition.
* Obtains market data and real estate trends.
* Assembles comparables and correlates factors affecting property values and prepares Value Estimates.
* Meets with property owners to review project plans, explain appraisal process and negotiate purchase agreements.
* Inspects and manages department properties to ensure compliance with agreements through final disposition.
* Reviews plans and deeds to verify property location, highway stations and proposed encroachments do not interfere with existing facilities or access control policies.
Administrative:
* Updates database system and produces project reports.
* Responds to right-of-way inquiries.
* Represents the department in public hearings and meetings.
* Provides technical assistance and serves as liaison with federal, state, and local agencies, special interest groups, real estate organizations, property owners and the public.

Employees perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series by having significant knowledge of the electric distribution and transmission system in the City of Grand Island and the ability to work on and sometimes oversee work on all types of energized equipment and lines. Everyone starts as an entry level restoration apprentice but the best apprentices can rise up to senior lead technician position. Our top senior lead technician have a total compensation package over $60,000 per year.
Appearance is very important, we need to make homeowners feel comfortable. Strict uniform standards must be adhered to; PuroClean provides all uniform items and provides a stipend for new boots annually.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Electric Meter Apprentice
* Investigating consumers' complaints concerning voltage irregularities.
* Oversees the materials, equipment, vehicles, and tools that technicians use on electric metering systems.
* Installs and removes electrical meters and associated equipment.
* Use and maintain a laptop computer and/or tablets for use in programming and maintenance of meters, completing daily work orders, time reporting, load validation forms, and other electronic forms as required.
* Connects and uses the test board and understands the use of testing instruments.
* Programs and tests new meters.
* Performs general and miscellaneous labor in and out of the meter shop.
* Installs and removes AMI field devices.
* May perform turn-ons and turn-offs on self-contained three-phase accounts.
* Investigates metering installations for current diversion and/or theft; evaluates evidence and recommends action.
* Training personnel in equal or lower classifications.
* Prepares various reports and records, including mileage, meter testing, and expense accounts.
* Assists in resolving unplanned power outages; participates in restoring power services in a safe and timely manner; and communicates with utility customers regarding electrical complaints, planned outages and potential electric hazards during power outages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Meterman Journeyman (all the above included)
* Using precision test equipment in the shop or field tests, repairs, installs, and maintains all types of customer metering equipment, including, but not limited to, kwh meters, demand meters, recording devices, instrument transformers, pulse initiating devices and remote.
* Responsible for installation, removal, inspection, and exchange of self-contained meters and metering equipment in the field and/or meter shop.
* Program and test new and field returned meters.
* Required to update and complete the work order using a work order management system.
* Installs security devices such as lockboxes, lock rings and metal meter covers. Remove or repair damaged equipment.
* Use and maintain a laptop computer and/or tablets for use in programming and maintenance of meters, completing daily work orders, time reporting, load validation forms, and other electronic forms as required.
* Effectively operates various computer software systems and navigates all applications routinely used in Meter Operations.
* Responsible for installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing all AMI field devices.
* Inspects and/or tests the connections on self-contained meters, devices, and test blocks.
* Use and maintain meter test bench and gain knowledge and understanding related to testing instruments and results. Knowledge of the characteristics, construction, adjustments, constraints, and application of meters to adjust for power factor.
* Builds and wires primary and secondary metering packages under Electric Meterman Foreman supervision.
* Evaluates, installs, and removes primary and secondary PTs and CTs, sockets, enclosures, and conduits under Electric Meterman Foreman supervision.
* Responsible for installing, testing, and repairing recording devices used for power quality monitoring.
* Ability to download and analyze power quality-related data.
* Responsible for investigating customer complaints concerning voltage irregularities.
* Installs, downloads, and analyzes current, voltage, and disturbance recorders on customers' metering equipment.
* Capable of performing connects and disconnects on self-contained three-phase accounts.
* Uses testing and troubleshooting devices in the field to troubleshoot meter and communication issues and perform customer-requested meter tests.
* Originates and assists Electric Meterman Foreman in the analysis and investigation of energy diversion, potential safety hazards, and other abnormal meter conditions.
* Assist Electric Meterman Foreman in the analysis of circuits or meters for error and calculate the amount of power loss or overcharge.
* Assist Electric Meterman Foreman in the analysis and correction of customer voltage problems and transient voltage disturbances (using electronic test equipment) that affect the operation of computers, computer-controlled machines, motors, appliances, etc. Makes recommendations to customers, electricians, and line department personnel.
* Assist Electric Meterman Foreman in the analysis of circuits for load, power factor, or voltage on customers' premises to provide data for metering changes and customer information. Meets with electricians to assist in metering design, including metering location and mounting.
* Responsible for inspecting Distributed Energy Resource (DER) installations, installing bi-directional meters, and updating DER permitting systems.
* Assist in resolving unplanned power outages; participate in restoring power services in a safe and timely manner; and communicate with utility customers regarding electrical complaints, planned outages, and potential electric hazards during power outages.
* Must follow Company safety standards and practices and be compliant in the proper use of personal protective equipment required to perform work.
* Assist other departments with manual electric meter readings as needed.
* Will be required to work with voltage up to 600 unsupervised.
* Utilization and training of Electrical Design software.
* Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
Apprentice
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Requires a valid driver's license
* Vocational /Associates electrical/instrumentation degree or equivalent experience in related work required
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Preferred candidate will have equivalent to/or a combination of experience listed that provides for the required knowledge, skills, and leadership, and must demonstrate abilities for continued training/education
Meterman Journeyman
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in the Electrical Field or successful completion of a recognized Electric Apprentice Training Program and/or any combination of experience, education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
* Must be at least 18 years of age
Knowledge and Skills:
* Knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code, National Electrical Code and OSHA standards.
* Knowledge of utility billing methods and systems.
* Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics and meter wiring diagrams or have the aptitude to quickly learn these skills.
* Must be proficient at the use of a personal computer and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
* Valid Class C Texas driver's license.
* Successful completion of Electric Metering Apprenticeship program within (3) years of hire
