We have a great opportunity to join our fixed income investment team as an Associate Municipal Bond Research Analyst. Candidates must have a strong desire to learn the US municipal bond market and will be expected to quickly develop an understanding of a wide breadth of municipal credit sectors. Successful candidates will leverage robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to compile and communicate research that informs investment decisions for a variety of tax-exempt bond strategies. We work in a collaborative environment, but this role requires the candidate to work independently on a high volume of investment opportunities with efficiency.
This role directly impacts our portfolios and the work you do will influence trades in the millions of dollars on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
· Utilize data analytics, news aggregation, and other tools to monitor high quality credits across a variety of municipal bond sectors
· Complete more thorough reviews of flagged credits, putting key datapoints in context and elevating to senior analysts as necessary
· Maintain and enhance the muni analytics platform to drive efficiency and further our research analytics strategy
· Help maintain integrity of the municipal credit management system (Investortools - CreditScope) data
· Over time, a successful candidate will learn to think like a fixed income investor, assuming more responsibility for making and communicating internal rating/recommendation changes and contributing to team discussions focused on sector trends, key topics, and investment opportunities
Required Qualifications:
· 0-3 years relevant experience
· BA or BS degree that demonstrates intellectual ability and rigor
· A comfort level with quantitative tools and analytics or developing advanced quantitative skills
· Established and demonstrated work ethic and willingness to invest in their careers
· Strong organizational skills coupled with an ability to take initiative and work independently
· Proficient in Excel, Python/R, VBA or the equivalent.
· Basic understanding in SQL and other programming languages.

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $100,000- $125,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. The Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience in senior finance roles with proven ability to work across a heavily matrixed organization to lead and influence through ambiguity to mobilize teams and peers to deliver on key results. Tech forward leader with proven track record of implementing new and innovative technologies with strong communication, training and change management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey complex materials to all levels of the organization including senior executives and Board of Directors
Demonstrated experience in implementing advanced forecasting / strategic planning techniques including activity based costing and zero-based budgeting
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or related discipline
