Responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership of business development and commercial banking activities within their assigned market. The position is responsible for optimizing market opportunities while aligning the best interests of customers, employees and the public. The Market President coaches teams to achieve collaborative high performance, implements initiatives and oversees strategy setting and goal attainment within their area while demonstrating the Ameris Vision, Purpose, Expectations and Values. Performs other projects and duties as assigned. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: * Strictly adheres to Bank Secrecy Act requirements and applies organizational policies and procedures in all activities. * Leads market management efforts customizing tactics to analyze the market, identify target groups, develop, implement and track action plans to optimize market potential. * Implements strategy, assesses and monitors performance, recruits, trains, coaches, motivates, manages and evaluates teams to meet and exceed sales goals as outlined by Bank leadership. * Responsible for analyzing, aligning and optimizing the use of resources to meet the operational needs of the market. * Oversees financial performance and profitability within assigned market. * Leads training and sales meetings coaching employees on effective sales strategies and managing achievement of sales objectives. * Monitors efficiency and performance identifying opportunities for improvement, removing obstacles, providing coaching, resolving problems, implementing processes and initiatives. * Monitors and oversees compliance, quality control and collections activities within assigned market. * Represents the Bank in business development efforts, on business calls, at networking and community functions. * Develops partnerships and collaborates with other line of business leaders to attain mutual goals and better serve customers. * Responsible for achievement of market objectives, service and sales goals as set by Bank leadership. * Demonstrates effective sales strategies to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships. * Applies need-based sales techniques to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships by identifying products and services to enhance the customer relationship with the bank. * Sets business development strategy for assigned market; identifies opportunities and makes sales calls to existing clients and prospects. * Maintains knowledge of banking products, programs, services, and promotions. * Approves policy exceptions within authorized limits. * May function as a lending officer by thoroughly collecting and analyzing customer and prospect financials to assess viability, performing ongoing credit grade determinations within policy guidelines and facilitating loan approval processes. * Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with Ameris' core values of Integrity and Honesty; always acts in the best interest of the customer when offering additional products and services. Distributes review templates to managers, providing training materials, process coaching, metrics reporting, and troubleshooting throughout the full process lifecycle. * Creates managerial level salary plans for annual merit increase process, following directives from compensation manager and HR Leadership. Creates reports and manages task delegations to ensure timely merit increases are recommended and approved with sufficient time to allow a system initiated import to payroll for final processing. * Identifies new functionality and recommend/implement changes to align with corporate and departmental strategies. * Documents, streamlines, and automates processes and procedures for HRIS, other HR related technology, and business intelligence function. * Responsible for designing and continuously streamlining Company-wide HR data, dashboard analytics, standard and custom reporting, using benchmarking and best practices as guiding standards to support business needs. * Ongoing focus on systems data integrity. Monitor regulatory compliance, data privacy requirements and facilitate SOX audit activities. * Responsible for HRIS system security including the establishment and assignment of security profiles with appropriate approvals and works with IT to maintain SSO. * Responsible for ongoing training of HR Team on HRIS and other HR related technology. Collaborates and assists IT Training Specialist with development of bank wide HR technology training. * Collaborates with the HR team to ensure all HRIS system related instructions, guides, presentations, documents and etc. are accurate. Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: * Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. * Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. * Demonstrated ability to multi-task is required. * General knowledge of HR laws and best practices is required. * Strong organizational skills are required. * Ability to work a flexible schedule is required. Industry and Work Experience: * 3 - 5 years of experience with HRIS required, preferably Workday. * Previous experience working in the assigned line of business and/or in banking is preferred. * Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws is preferred. Academic: * Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field required. * Masters or MBA preferred. * SHRM-CP or other HR certification preferred. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: * Payroll Management: o Administers all payroll functions daily. o Provide oversight for employee record changes. o Manages and verifies tax calculations for employees based on lived in/worked in states. o Resolve outstanding items in payroll liability accounts. o Oversee setup/disbursement for involuntary deductions (garnishments) daily. o Data entry of employee changes/new hires/terminations. o Provides training to other members on the team as well as completes cross training within the payroll department for backup purposes. * Payroll Compliance: o Oversee and file all payroll tax reports (W-2s, 941s, State forms) quarterly or as needed. o Handle new state applications. o Manage internal and external audit requests. o Ensure timely submission of required Federal, State, and Worker's Compensation reports. o Process and track garnishments and other deductions. o Auditing, edit, process, and distribute reports received from each processing period. o Processing of payroll 24 times per year in addition to off cycle payrolls needed. o Process/track 401(k) uploads to vendor - working closely with 401(k) advisors and consultants. o Process annual deduction change file in addition to adjustments needed for payroll as well as weekly deduction file uploaded for ESPP, 401K, and other deduction changes. o Troubleshoot issues within the payroll system, including on the supervisor level. o Process bonus runs for incentives as needed. o Process commission payments bi-monthly, or as needed. o Assist with the open enrollment process for welfare benefits. o Communicate with all employees on payroll processes and procedures. o Create/interpret reports for coordinators and management. o Create/conduct training for coordinators/employees on system processes. o Create journal entries for payroll taxes/coordinate all tax processes with the payroll provider. o Tax inquiry research. o Coordinate completion of surveys from OSHA, DOL, etc. o Determine best practices/processes to maximize the use of the system. o Manage system maintenance/upgrades. o Handle year-end processes to include edits, W2's, address & SS# verification, etc. * Employee Terminations: o Works closely with other HR & Payroll team members to ensure final payment to the employee and termination of any loans, etc. o Works closely with the HR & benefits team to coordinate termination of all welfare benefits. * Employee Onboarding: o Ensures new hire employees are paid accurately and on time. * Employee Issues Relating to Payroll: o Must be familiar with and able to communicate policies and procedures to coordinators and employees, working closely with all levels of management. o General Working Knowledge of: o Workers Comp. o Benefits & Deductions. o FMLA. o ADA. o FLSA. o HR and Payroll Policies and Procedures.
