Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Welder- 2nd Shift to join our team. is $20.00- $31.29 per hour. The core hours are 3:45pm-2:15am Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you'll do: The Welder will perform routine hand-welding or robotic welding on a repetitive and non-repetitive nature on standard and near-standard assemblies. De-burr, grind, and fit components prior to welding. Grind and polish finished elements as required. Block jig or position parts prior to welding. Assist other operators in their work as directed/required. In this function you will: A. Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions. B. Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas. C. Provide assistance to other sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required. D. Deliver material to/from work stations using material handling equipment, position work material on work surface. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion. E. Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components. F. Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation/record keeping may be required. G. Operate spot welders, arc welders, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sanders, hand-tools, bandsaws, drills, temporary fixturing devices, jigs and fixtures, and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems. H. Maintenance of equipment such as dressing of welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems. I. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion; keeping oil deposits off of floor. J. Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified. K. Other duties as required. Four years of shop or field welding. Must be able to understand implicit and explicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflicts, and make effective decisions under pressure. Ability to do math calculations, especially trigonometry. Essential Physical Functions: Requires lifting, stooping, bending and stretching to accomplish grinding, welding and other assigned duties. Requires ability to work at different heights. Requires correctable vision to within normal range to perform clean and uniform welds and read blueprints. Requires standing, bending and stooping for extended periods of time. Job Duties Building complex assemblies by performing the layout, fit-up, assembly and welding operations. Certify to multiple weld specifications as required for different materials and weld processes. Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals, specifications and procedures to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished weldment. Measuring, marking and scribing dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining or fabrication operations as required by router instructions and good shop practice. Using precision measurement instruments. Operating hand tools and other shop equipment such as grinders, positioners, turn rolls. Perform material handling of large weldments using overhead cranes, using proper lifting techniques with high degree of attention to safety. May operate fork truck, with certification requirements Ensure proper data entry of inspection and other information into computer system. Monitor and maintain proper cleanliness and function of equipment and work area on a daily basis. Requirements A minimum of two years of trade school or vocational education or appropriate work experience in welding General welding knowledge, shop math, precision measuring instruments, blueprint reading and welding symbols Must have MIG and TIG welding experience; physical weld test will be required in selection process to meet minimum criteria for qualification.
