Société Industrielle et Chimique de l’Aisne (SICA), the predecessor company to Sudamin Holding S.A. (Sudamin), entered the antimony trioxide business in 1933 and has been operating at the same facility in Chauny, France, since then.

In 1937, GfE expanded its products and operations by establishing a United Kingdom subsidiary, London & Scandinavian Metallurgical Company, Ltd (LSM), a producer of superalloys.

Limited (LSM UK) is formed in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England as a metal alloy production facility with production commencing in 1940.

GK acquired RW Silicium, a producer of silicon metal in Germany, which was formed in 1947.

1997 Safeguard International acquires the assets of Metallurg, Inc., which include LSM UK and CIF.

In 2001, Sudamin acquired PCDL Lucette, a competing French antimony trioxide producer, and significantly expanded its antimony trioxide presence and market capacity with the acquisition of another French producer.

Inc., from AFC-Holcroft LLC. ALD-Holcroft, formed in 2005, acts as the exclusive sales agent for ALD’s heat treatment product lines in the NAFTA region.

AMG was incorporated in the Netherlands in November 2006, formed from a combination of specialty metals businesses.

2007 AMG becomes a publicly traded company listed on the NYSE Euronext Stock Exchange.

2013 LSM UK is renamed AMG Superalloys UK Limited.

In 2016, ALD acquired the remaining 50% share of its joint venture company, ALD-Holcroft Co.
