The successful candidate will work across our client engagements and internal research projects, helping the company develop graph algorithms and techniques to support advanced data management designs, including dimension-rich and time-series-based decision systems. This role will report to the Director of Solutions. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to support public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies in transforming their data into actionable insights. Preference will be given to candidates able to work a hybrid schedule in our offices in DC or Richmond, VA. What you will do: Serve as the company's expert in all aspects of graph data modeling, including schema development, tradeoff data connectivity with retrieval/query performance Design, implement, and optimize graph algorithms and data structures for applications in decision support, classification Supervise, help create, and implement algorithms for encoding and embedding, clustering, outlier detection, community detection, and dimensionality reduction Build distributed training pipelines that can handle large graphs (100 M+ graph element) Design and write queries, stored procedures for data loading, migration from existing databases, and retrieval Interface with customers and internal resources to ensure alignment of expectations and objective progress towards the application of graph in advanced analytical systems Author white papers, technical documentation, patents, and present at conferences Mentor and train data scientists on graph theory, graph analytics and graph-based solution architectures Other duties as assigned Required Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering with a strong focus on graph theory, algorithms, and data structures Required Experience: 5+ years of recent professional experience in Graph Machine Learning 3+ years of recent professional experience in the development and implementation of graph algorithms and data structures, including heterogeneous graphs for new applications 3+ years leading research initiatives Required Skills: Proficient with data modeling, schema design, database optimization, performance monitoring Proficient in software development using 4GLs Familiarity with graph libraries and frameworks, and machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch Geometric, DGL, GDS) Proficient in at least one Apache Spark based cloud service (e.g., Azure Databricks) Commitment to and engagement in building strong and trustful relationships with teammates, business partners, and customers Intellectually curious and passionate about exploring new frontiers in graph theory with an emphasis on real-world applications Desire and ability to stay current with both academic and industry literature Ability to obtain Public Trust Preferred: Experience with Neo4j, Cosmos DB, Arango DB Experience with cloud services and their database management system Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering with a strong focus on graph theory, algorithms, and data structures Success at Amida Communication is the key to success at Amida.
